Tillman and McCullough still out for today

I was hoping Cedric would get a few reps this game. It's not easy to be out a stretch and then return with everything in sync. I think KY is going to be tougher than we think. I hope I'm wrong.

It’s the same plan essentially

Get Levis off his spots and pressure
Create turnovers
Full nascar offense

Kentucky has no chance especially in Knoxville

I don't think so. We're a bad match up for them. Weak d and they haven't scored over 24 I think.
They’ve got a pretty good group of LBs (arguable best in the SEC but I know they had a few injuries there) and a decent back 4.

I also was hoping that Tillman could shake off some rust in this gimme game today.

Just hoping he’s ready to ball out next week.

You people keep saying this....
Based on what?

Are you just generally afraid internally?

In my mind, we can beat KY without Tillman and McCullough. So why not use that game as a tune up to get them back into a game mindset to prepare for UGA.

McCullough is likely just a procedural thing to clear the university and SEC process, but why risk Tillman coming back too early or reinjure in a game that should be an easy, easy win.

Ah man 😢
I was hoping Tillman would get some reps and some stats today. Man I hate Akron so much right now 😡. Tillman should have been all American and assaulting the record books in his final season and a dirty team ROBBED him of that.
AD White needs to be in the phone with other ADs and work on black balling Akron from ANY payday games in the future, at least as long as Moorehead is in charge

We've heard this song and dance before about multiple defenses all year.
He said they have a weak D. I think it’s better than most we’ve faced this year. Not quite the dline of LSU/Bama but better LBs.

We are going to score on anyone as long as our oline continues to protect Hooker.

Am I high (rhetorical question) or was there not a thread this morning saying Tillman is done for the year?

Look, I get the mind set to "let him sit out this game, and the next game, we really need him for those x guys in two weeks." I get it.

But these lads are football players. They wanna play. They wanna be out there with their teammates. They want the fun, and excitement. They want to be heroes for their school. They also want to prove themselves to NFL scouts. They want to build their stats. They want to establish a body of film.

So I'm always going to come down on the side of "let's get him back as soon as possible. As soon as he's healthy. As soon as the investigation finds he did nothing wrong. As soon as his leg feels strong enough."

I hope ESPN is wrong, and both these lads get to play at least some snaps today.

Go Vols!

SCAR and Ole Miss spanked them with the rush. Balanced offense with plenty of rush yards.

Take advantage of porous KY OL and hurry/sack/disrupt Levis.

Contain CROD-limit missed tackles.

Would have been nice for Tillman to get in a couple of series just to get back into the groove.

I'm all for more dress rehearsals for secondary players. We had a walk-on last week that held his own.

Tillman is still struggling to cut without pain. The doctors aren’t going to let him go until he can cut. No one knows when, or even if, he’ll be back.

Nobody is afraid. TN is undefeated and there is so much on the line. Every fan base of relevant teams have concerns. They may not acknowledge their concerns in the masses, but Buckeye, USC, Michigan, UGA, Bama fans discuss their concerns throughout the season.

Think about the TN vs Notre Dame baseball series. TN was the better team on paper but just had an off weekend. Such is life in sports.

KY has talent and plays ball control offense. Our secondary is weak and there will eventually be a game where the TN offense doesn’t click on all cylinders as it happens.

It’s been a great ride and TN should take care of KY, but they have talent.
