Well now that the football season is officialy over. It is time for me to start hitting Youtube and looking at highlight tape, looking at combine results, measurements and watching All-Star games for all aour recruits

Being in high school, I have enough time to do this. And it also I think helps me prepare for my dream job ob being a scout. So if you ever want to glance at my evaluations of these players. Here is where to look

So who is first on my list

Pat Martin
Greensville, South Carolina
5'11
196 lbs
4.6 40

Evaluation:

He is a young safety with good spped and range. Can make big hits to jar the ball loose or keep a reciever from catching it. Has the size and frame to bulk up and get to 225 without losing his speed. Needs to work on making the sure tackle at times rather then going for the big hit. He also has some trouble reacting to plays quickly, but given time that can be improved, Overall a good prospect, can red shirt his first year. Learn the scheme, bulk up and then in 2012 start making a real impact on defense and special teams

A.J Johnson
Gainesville, Georgia (love taking their guys)
6'3
226 lbs
4.65 40

Evaluation:

Johnson is a tenastious kid who is ready to strap on the helmet and put his heart out on the field on every play. He is quick to the ball, has good tackling mechanics and can also get to the QB. He also shows good range and can be anywhere on the field. He has a chance to play LB in college but his ideal position is DE. He doesnt have fluid hips and needs to work on staying lower and improving his flexibility to change direction. Once he can settle in at DE, and really learn to stay low. He will be a great strong side defensive end.

He will play LB here.....

Hate to say it but it just looks like you are making a cliff notes of whats already been said about these kids.

Rivals eval of AJ..

On the Hoof: Johnson looks more like a strongside defensive end than a linebacker. He is physically reminiscent of Prince Shembo from the class of 2010.
Needs Improvement: Johnson has a tendency to play high at the point of attack. He will need to stay lower and become the attacker, not the attacked. He also needs to improve lateral quickness by improving flexibility in the knees and hips if he intends to play linebacker in college.
Most Impressive: Has the perfect size to play linebacker or defensive end at the next level. His body type is very versatile, and he could be used on most special teams. Johnson has the heart of a lion and never gives up on a play. He will pursue the ball all over the field. There is no doubt that he thrives on contact, and that is something you can’t coach.
Conclusion: I believe that he will be given a shot at playing linebacker, but like Allen Bailey at Miami he will end up with his hand on the ground. Those schools that passed on him because of mobility issues will regret it, because Johnson will overcome that with his tenacious attitude on the football field.

Scouts version:
Johnson is a talented and versatile linebacker. He could play inside or outside LB on the next level or could develop into a rush end as well. He plays with a lot of energy, he is a very aggressive player, and he hits with power behind his pads. He does need to work on his drops, shedding blockers, and his flexibility. He is best when attacking north-south and combining his size with that strength, D-End is a possibility. - Chad Simmons

DeAnthony Arnett
Saginaw, Michigan
6'0
167
4.49

Evaluation
Speed,Quickness, hands WOW. All words that can desvribe DeAnthony Arnett. When it comes to speed and quickness he is up there with the best. Can out run DB's and defenders. When he does get open he will catch the ball wherever it is thrown. Can go up for a jump ball and pull it down with ease. He has great route running skills and can stretch a team down the field or across the middle. What will plague him though is his small frame at 6'0 170 lbs he needs to add on some muscle in order to hold his blocks. Regardless, he will be an asset on offense and on special teams for the Vols. Wether or not they red shirt him is the question

Justin Coleman
Brunswick, Georgia
5'11
175 lbs
4.4

Evaluation

Justin can get to the ball quickly. He does a good job of reading the play and getting to the ball carrier. As far as a runs topped he is solid, hs the speed to go and make the tackle, anywhere on the field. In coverage he can cover the deep passes well. Knows where to go, and can get the tackle. I think he is better suited at safety then corn,er but can also play nickel. Has the size and speed you look for in a DB. Still not developed but with time can be one of the hidden gems in this class

Sorry, but you said that Pat Martin has good speed when that's been one of his, if not his only, knock during his evaluations by analysts.

Coleman is a CB all the way. He's just physical and I think he'll have a chance at starting next season for us being that he's an EE.
