Nascar never ceases to amaze me. Denny Hamlin just put the driver of the 48 piece of crap a lap down, right. As soon as he passes him, Nascar throws the caution for a piece of candy wrapper or something. Way to keep the race alive for your poster boy.

The heads of Nascar have sold thier soul to corporate pigs. :finger3:

That "candy wrapper" was a 2 foot bumper support...

What do you care about JJ anyway? The #8 is about to move into the top 5.

Luckily they through another caution for JJ about 2 laps after he knocked the wall down. That first one was a joke too, that debris was way down on the apron. They've thrown cautions for less before, however.

Yeah, they waited until the shrub had passed Denny for the lead before they threw the caution.

like i said in another post, did anyone think when jimmy blew the tire and hit the wall that he could have easily gotten off the track...it seemed to me that he purposly stayed on the track in the racing groove so that they would throw a caution so he would not loose laps

Of course that's what he was doing. I think just about every driver would have done the same as long as they could maintain some semblance of speed without fear of putting it into the wall and tearing things up.

its smart..but dirty...real dirty, i would have ran his a** off the track...but of course NASCAR is going to throw the yellow for their poster boy..I guarntee if that was Hermie Sadler or something out there they would not have thrown the yellow

They did wait until he was actually lapped to throw the caution for no particular reason that second time. If you're going to throw the caution for him hitting the wall, fine, but why did they wait 2 laps?

You could be right about that . . . but I'm not sure I go along with the idea that JJ is NASCAR's poster boy. All you've got to do is watch the commercials and you can tell real fast who gets the biggest push.

It's not even about helping Johnson out to me, it's the ridiculous cautions in general. There were at least 3 or 4 phantom cautions last week at Atlanta just to bunch the field up. The last one just happened to close JJ up to the leader, and put Gordon back on the lead lap.

Since Jr. gets the most commercials because Budweiser and Chevrolet want him involved in their promoting, I sure wish he could start getting some beneficial yellows. :)

But anyway, back to the CoT.

Was there any driver that came out and said they loved it? The race winner said it sucked, Stewart said it was similar to driving a brick, and several other drivers said they struggled with it. I guarantee Michael Waltrip will fully endorse it tomorrow night on Inside Nextel Cup, at which point Ken Schrader should look over and ask, "How would you know how it races, Mike?"

Jeff Burton was probably the kindest toward it when he said it felt like a normal Bristol race to him from the driver's seat.

I'm not sure anybody will really know much until they get it out on a super speedway in race conditions. Bristol seems to me like an odd place to introduce new technology.

 I really don't like the Hendrick guys anymore than anybody else. Jimmy Johnson is about as exciting as a manilla folder.

I do kind of like riling up Dale Jr fans for some reason though.

I thought that for awhile, but the more you think about it, it makes sense to break'em out at Bristol and Martinsville where the downforce plays virtually no role in the cars. This way they can at least get'em on the track and work out the kinks.
