What's it going to take to get people to throw in the towel on the union? I don't think that this country is working anymore. Our government is completely gridlocked when it comes to important issues (ending the wars, raising/lowering taxes, enhancing/cutting social services, etc.). Even if one party does wrest a mandate from the 2012 elections, half of the citizenry (the losers) will be foaming at the mouth with fear and outrage and most of that half will be confined within the borders of specific states, be those red or blue. The vitriolic morass that we've descended into is not democracy in action. It's more like a civil war without bullets. What's the point of going on in this deathgrip of hatred between D and R? Power to the people.

Seriously though, i would have no problem with a southern states plus oklahoma and texas spin off.

Seriously, if the south seceded I would move back. Maybe we won't end up with better government, but at least we could arrange a CFB playoff.

You sold me, im in...jk..that was the one thing i was excited about the Obama presidency, although innappropriate given all of our woes, he flirted with the playoff thing.
