I agree we should greatly diminish our presence. After almost nine years of war, does anyone know what we are now accomplishing?

This is the current problem and has been for some time. There is no real defined objective to work toward.

The place isnt conducive to a central government with any control. The people are tribal and independent of other tribes, the infrastructure that would possibly bond the groups doesnt exist.

The only people there that are keen to have us, it seems, are the puppets in government, and they arent exactly buddies of ours.

I could see running a black war for the sake of accidents befalling some bad folks, but the charade of spreading democracy to the uncivilized world is wearing thin.

I see no wisdom in fighting to set up a government that has adopted islamic sharia law in it's constitution, they will never be a friendly government to the USA no matter what.

It's high damned time we dropped the charade.

We have more muslim training camps in America than there are in Afghanistan.

If we really want to fight tribalism and promote democracy we should send those troops to South Africa and Zimbabwe today.

We just need to clap louder.

Your excellent commander in chief has heard your concerns and agrees. GS and Obama thinking alike. Who would have guessed?

Obama reaffirms 2011 Afghanistan withdrawal

The difference between you and me is that you believe everything obozo says and I believe nothing he says.

If and when he does pull out he will make it appear to be our defeat and thus embolden our enemy even more as did Clinton in his Somali fiasco.

Well that's certainly an enlightened way to view the world.

How about searching for the truth rather than just digging around for things to reinforce your partisan preconceptions?

I've forgoten more on the topic than you will probably ever know.

I once had a room mate who owned a 75 yr old anti-social parrot the he couldn't take out in public because it had the habit of cursing Arabs and insulting Muhammed in Urdu.

The parrot knew more than you know.

You are the one who holds the blind partisan preconcetptions.

The only real difference between Dems and Reps is for the most part merely cosmetic and for public consumption.

There wasn't enough difference between obammy and mclame to spit at, they are both just shadow puppets.
