Cuonzo year in and year out will call a TO after a big momentum basket. I hope that in his mind he is thinking we have to call a TO on a positive and figure out a way to get some stops but just from someone who has any knowledge of basketball the last thing you want to do is call a TO when you have or are gaining momentum.:hi:

Goggles boy has been killing them, even after a made basket. Pay attention. He tried to set up a defense that could stop it. My god, apply for the position if you think your in game decisions are better.

Calm down. Coaches do this all the time.

What's that??

Have their teams play absolutely awful for an entire half of the season???

If that's what your referring to then yes I agree that's exactly what martin has done for 2 years and has a very nice starting that over again here

20pts in 20min

Then

8pts in 3 possessions.

Then a TO

Sometimes its not ALL about defense!

Half season Martin has figured that out in his first two years about February.

Can you read or are you trying to play dumb to get into yet another argument? He was responding about the timeout comment.

Stop being dramatic and turning into something it's not.

Sorry half season martin has me frustrated

My god, go out there and do it yourself. You act like Martin tells the guys "Miss all your shots. Miss more than 50% of the foul shots, travel, etc." This is all on execution and the players failed. Not much from the approach makes me mad at Martin in this one.

I never understood this philosophy. CCM isn't the only one.

It's dumb.

I don't think I'd ever do it, but I can see why. That guy was matching everything we did offensively, so he wanted to try to set up a defensive set to stop him. As Pearl said, "Half the time it works, half the time it doesn't. Half the time you're a genius, the other half you should've (done different)".

Xavier needed the time out. Not us. It made no sense.

EXACTLY..If you are having trouble scoring the basketball and getting into any type of rythm the last thing you want to do is stop that. Even if you see a weakness on defense that you think you can scheme against with a timeout. What does it matter if you get a stop but can't score? Bottom line this team has trouble scoring and has in the past if they get a few buckets in a row see what happens..I don't care who is doing it that doesn't make it the right decision especially considering our history of offensive woe's with CCM.

The time out was minimal compared to the free throw shooting...get them on the fee throw line and find a feel for how to make free throws...hell let's make it 100 each made free throws before practice is over...that is where the game was lost...BASICS

It beats waiting for something bad to happen before making an adjustment.

Doesn't make sense ga. You can call your pg over, signal, or flat out yell instructions ahead of time, then your pg relays. No need to call a timeout to set up a press after a basket.

What does it matter if you can score but not get a stop? Trading baskets is no better than trading missed shots.

Not sure what the big deal is. If it helps, they did a study and figured that calling timeouts hurts a offense more than it helps in late game situations. I would assume he's calling the timeouts because either he doesn't like what he sees on defense or he wants to set our defense so we can continue cutting into their lead. I'd only call a timeout when a team gets on a big run but it's whatever.
