Tiny

Tiny has big problems with false starts. Real issue with penalties. He has cost us in several games.

Cost us several games? That is a stretch.....but he keeps getting false starts because he keeps getting beaten on the outside. He is trying to step back in time to have a chance to stop the surge of the D Line.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Any team that spends a 1st rd pick on him, just wasted an otherwise useful pick. He is grossly overrated and about as undisciplined a player as we've had on the field in quite awhile. He has majorly regressed since the 2nd half of last season. Maybe it is scheme change, but dang, we're 8 games, a fall camp, and a spring practice into it now. How long is it going to take?

If he doesn't come back next year, he's going to end up majorly regretting it. Big fella still needs a lot of work.

Tiny reminds me of Lee Ziemba from Auburn a few years ago. Great size and a lot of hype, but he had a problem with penalties and never lived up to his potential.

Reminds me of Jacques Smith....just on the other side of the line. Tons of hype....zero results.

Damn people chill out. Tiny has a problem with false starts and he obviously didn't have a good game tonight but Tiny is a Vol through and through and is a very good Offensive linemen. Zero results from Tiny? Just stop that's ridculous.

Who wants to line up against Tiny and whip his azz???...*crickets*

Thought so. Bunch of true QWERTY turds.

No offense to Tiny, but I hope like he!! he declares!
Don't say that. He's better than any other OL we have, and have had in some time. He just had a bad night. I put more of it on coaching. After the first FS penalty, the coaches should have been all over his case, cause those can stall a drive nearly as bad as a dropped pass (cough...Josh Smith...cough).

I think between some of his blown assignments in the SC game and tonight...he torpedoed his chances at being a 1st Rd pick. He needs another year (he's only played 2 seasons thus far) to clean up and sharpen his game, before he tries to run for the $$$.

If we do have a turn around season and he cleans up the mistakes, he's potentially a top 5 pick overall...and that amount of salary will more than make up for the extra year. Right now, with our record looking the way it is, his stock will take a big hit. NFL teams tend to gravitate toward big time players on successful teams...and that may not always be a fair way to assess talent, but it's just a reality.

CBJ's first year as the HC at Cincinnati was underwhelming, but his team flipped the script the following year, and they were competing for conference titles every year since. So, the Calvary is coming. I hope Tiny returns, as that will help ensure that we have a good OL to protect Dobbs with. He'll improve and we'll be a better team for it.

You're right, VOLorNuttin, I was just a little angry/disappointed when I typed that last night. But damn it seems like every false start penalty this season has been on Tiny and at the most inopportune time! :banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

I think he is a good player that just had a very bad game tonight . I don't think he is a first rounder this year with some more development he might possibly become one. No matter what he is a student athlete and a VOL, so let's get behind him and support him!

I love this defense each time a 6-5 330 lb football player is criticized for sucking it up. Because him being bigger than 95% of humanity matters. It doesn't make him immune to much-deserved crticism. That's a 4th grade playground mentality.

Like someone else said, right now, he is sucking at his job. Its not a pissing match.

How do you not bench a guy for a few snaps after a game like this? That is the type of thing that worries me about this coaching staff. If I see Jones coming out of a tunnel again arm in arm with Tiny I think I will puke my guts out. Hey coach, you're not their buddy, you're their coach. So, act like it.

Been that way for 3 long years, not just this season. He has never grown or matured out of it. Tiny is a classic case of someone who physically could compete at the next level but he does not have the mental and/or emotional make up yet. Maybe never will. Plus his footwork is SLOW.

He could not finish his last year at Ensworth, we should not be surprised at these results.

This kid is an awesome talent, but has had substandard coaching throughout his college career. His performance this year makes me wonder whether the "best staff in America" is still falling WAY short of the commitment they made to him (and to the O-line in general) and to us (as fans). It is easy to blame 19-22 year-old-kids, but the bottom line is that the buck must stop with the coaching staff when a solid group of athletes continuously underperforms.

Everybody loves to blame our problems on being "outmanned" - well the O-line is a clear instance of our not being outmanned, yet they are still not up to the challenge of playing competitive SEC caliber football. If we are gonna throw darts and find fault, whose fault is that?

Ok, zero results is a bit of a reach.....but very good is too. Did you see the South Carolina game? He's exposed when playing against talent. I'd say he's average....just like the rest of our line in run blocking.
