This year is the first time for me and my family to be able to go to any basketball games (men's or women's).

I will be taking my two young children and my Dad to everyone's first games this year. Are there any "must do" activities to take in before-hand, (both men's and women's) like there are for football?

I want to hook the kids and make some lifelong Vol b-ball fans, so any help would be great!!!!

IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!!!!!

Congrats on taking your family, they will love it. I like going to watch the shoot around but...that's about it haha.

When is the earliest you can get in the arena, and do they allow autographs, photo ops. etc.?

The kids would absolutely LOVE that (ok, ok, i would too :)).

Not sure on time. I went to a few last year early and got some autographs. Didn't get any pics but I'm sure you could.

Gates open and hour and a half before tip-off for guys games. I think girls game may be an hour before tip-off. I haven't ever seen players sign autographs but maybe if you stay after the game and watch the Bruce Pearl show then you might get a chance. I don't know though.

Here is a helpful tip if you aren't sure about parking. This information was good last year so double-check before relying on it.

You can park down near the College of Veterinary Medicine and take a free shuttle bus to a drop off right directly in front of the arena. Then, you can ride the shuttle back to the parking lot after the game.

Right after the game, the shuttle bus lines are long. However, you can loaf around after the game and watch the Bruce Pearl show live from the arena floor.

By the time the BP show is over, the bus line is easy. I think the buses run up to an hour after the game.

I meant to include that during the BP Show when they are in a commercial break, kids (or anyone else for that matter) can get an autograph or pic made with Bruce.

Some of the players will walk back out and sign some autographs too after the game. Although it might be easier to get some player's autographs before the game during shoot around if you get there super early.

It is MUCH easier to get pics and autographs after road games, because there are far fewer fans, and they really appreciate those who show up on the road. Access to the team isn't quite as easy at UGA anymore. They seem to have cracked down a bit since Bruce sent the players into the stands in 2006.

After the game you can wait outside , if u know where the buses drop the visiting team off to go inside the arena. It is behind the pratt pavilon that's were all the players park there cars and after they shower and leave they will come out that way. I got several autographs like that when lofton was a senior.

Glad you are able to take your family to the games. They will love the atmosphere and enjoy the games.

I think that if you got there super early, you could get the players to sign some autographs during warmups. Also, I've seen kids getting pictures with Smokey throughout the whole game.

I am going to the USC game this year and am very pumped up too. I got real good courtside seats and wanna get the orange on TV from out there in LA.

I know that they appreciate how well they travel and agree that an away game is a great way to meet them

The Kentucky game saturday will be my first game in TBA - any suggestions different to the ones already provided?

Perhaps a PM would have worked for this type of info. A person(s) exact location at a exact time. Just sayin.
