I think it makes shallow people skip over good recruits with bad ratings. I get that most 3 stars are 3 stars but not all of them deserve it. Watch the film and garner your own opinion of their rating.

Plus whose rating do you choose?

Bad idea for those with their own brain

I understand that, but it's just to simplify

Keep it simple.

Class / State / Position(s) / Name

The OP should have links to the prospects profiles on various sites like 247 Sports, Rivals, & HUDL. Scout and ESPN aren't really necessary, but they are nice to include. Including a profile pic helps, too. All it takes is a Google search + a copy/paste for the links.

If you were to include stars that would mean multiple threads getting updated over the year when they update their rankings. Lots of work for the Mods, IMO it's unnecessary. Besides, there are often different rating over different sites. This subforum is relatively nice and tidy, hopefully we can keep it that way.

A 3 star with a bunch of big time offers should tell a true follower of college football that the kid has some talent and that he may be a good one in a couple of years at least. But some just lump them in as not very good because of it despite having offers from heavy hitters. Also a 3 star playing in a tough division in florida or any highly competitive area should be a good indicator the kid is probably a good player with potential. GBO!!!!

Sometimes 3*'s are capable of actually being 4*'s but they get injured in the Junior season for instance and it effects their rating.

Rankings change. Doubt the mods want to have to keep up with updating recruits' thread titles every time they get a bump up or down.

I think we did use star ratings three years ago or so. Was too much hassle. The layout of most in here is good. Every now and then you get someone trying to start their first recruit thread that messes it up...no biggie. The you've got the one person (we all know who) who goes way over the top with his threads.

Every time he starts bumping threads:

It'd be nice if his thread could be stickied to the bottom of the page, so it would stop bumping.

I ignored it shortly after it was created. I only opened it so I could ignore it

I ignored it as soon as I saw it too. Opened once, only because you have to in order to ignore it. Wish there was a right click option for doing that.

And an ignore feature on mobile.

You guys are amazing. I had never used the 'ignore thread' feature before.

I have started using it more and more. When someone commits to another school, I put the thread on ignore. No need in seeing it anymore.

I've heard rumors that the Higgins thread still gets posted in, but I wouldn't know.

Ray's thread went on ignore either yesterday or earlier today.
