I'm sure he will if he wants to play.Dunno why they went to the delay handoff up the middle when they were getting like 10-20yds on sweeps to the outside.
Just because he made a good play doesn’t mean he isn’t out of shape though lol. The kid didn’t pursue a single play. He would just stand there if he wasn’t actively in on the play.
(I bring this up because our coaching staff wants people to pursue, so he needs to work on this and his shape especially with this staff)
He seemed to only have 5 or 6 tackles. Maryville plays fast and he seemed dehydrated in the first half and got hurt in the 2nd. I think he has a chance to be special. Maryville is just very well coached and almost knew exactly where he was gonna beWhat was upsetting about watching him, was that when he wanted to, he could manhandle that center. Like he did on that play.
It was just that he was gased and he would only choose to manhandle the center sometimes.
I was at the game. Dude was a complete non-factor. People claiming he was getting doubled are being selective. He was doubled a handful of times. The times he wasn't, he still didn't beat his man (who was probably 5'-9" and maybe 240 lbs soaking wet). He was blocked man to man in pass situations and he never got within 5 yards of the qb. Maryville did run away from his side mostly, but there was a ton of inside zone runs that a truly good backside tackle would be able to blow up. Slow, weak, unaggressive, bad body language. He wasn't even the best player on the D line for them. I'm predicting his ranking will take a blow when they're updated next.
I guess it’s a good thing we have one of the best Dline coaches in football evaluating thenI was at the game. Dude was a complete non-factor. For sure this kid has all the potential in the world to be an absolutely amazing athlete. He is already a good athlete imagine if RG gets a hold of him and gets him where he needs to be….. whew boy wouldn’t want to be on the other side of that footballI guess it’s a good thing we have one of the best Dline coaches in football evaluating then![]()
I don’t think people are evaluating his talent, that’s for the coaches and we all know he has big time talent.I mean how can anyone on this board evaluate a friggin high school nose tackle. Lol. They’re just big kids at this age. Wait until he has coaching, structure, a defensive playbook, and college nutrition and training. They aren’t playmakers, they’re disrupters.
