'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

Walter’s dad reads this board. Prob wouldn’t like half the stuff said on here about his kid. Just telling y’all now.
It’s the loud dumbass minority of fans. All fanbases have them. If I were his dad and bothered to read message boards I’d probably laugh my ass off.

And the ball hardly ever spirals. The defense didnt even need to double any of the receivers because Peyton isn't that good.
“Good…not great arm. Can’t make plays with his feet like Stewart and that’s what Fulmer’s offense requires. He should transfer and play in Division I-AA, if he wants playing time.”

Most folks making negative comments are probably just trying to convince themselves he might be overrated so they've got something to fall back on if he decides to go somewhere other than Tennessee. After the last 10+ years of Tennessee football, many fans have developed some weird coping mechanisms.

VN when Peyton was coming out of High School: "I don't know guys, he's got a large forehead. I bet that would make fitting a helmet difficult. And did you see he threw that one interception last week. He's overrated."
Unfortunately, there were plenty of fans talking about him being overrated because of his dad!

People have been told this before with other recruits. They don't care. There's a lot of people on the board that never sniffed a football field after high school(some after middle school), but love to critique top level athletes. You need thick skin as a parent of a recruit to tread in these waters.

Yeah people who think recruits and their families don’t read about themselves are dead wrong. People need to be more conscientious of what they say about KIDS on here.

There are zero individuals saying he sucks. That being said, the greatest defensive recruit in the country ought to command a double team every play. Did anyone here see John Henderson against Maryville in the 1997 state championship? UNBLOCKABLE even against double teams (and Maryville had monsters on the OL that season like Chuck Prugh, Isaac Simmerly, and Nick Black... all big talented dudes). Against Nolen, Maryville stopped double teaming him after the first quarter because he was not a threat. That's why Maryville's rushing took off in the second half. They could allocate blockers to other defenders and the 240 lb. white kid with a mullet could take care of mister 5* by himself. If Nolen is the best DT in the country, then the 5'-9" 240 lb center for Maryville is the best OL in the country. How do you square that statement?

Last night was embarrassing for the "#1" player in the country.

I watched the whole game….

I saw Cade Mays come to down and get that a$$ beat too. It seems like something happens when those superstars come to the stadium. Anyways, I did see Tee and told him I'm rooting hard for #44 this season.

And I don't disagree that with time Nolan will be a good player. But be honest with yourselves about what you saw last night and take the orange glasses off for a moment. He wasn't that impressive for the "#1" recruit.

He went to the worse school possible to display his talents. Matt Lowe’s teams are horrible on defense and discipline. But I guess that is probably the only place in Knox County he could get “set up.” That team is giving up 49 1/2 points per game so far.
One of his handlers is a coach there
