'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

Have any of the people claiming Nolen was double teamed "all night" have anything to say about his highlights from the game? Lol. I counted one tfl on a blown assignment (late reach block) where he went unblocked. And the rest he was hat on a hat. One of his "highlight" plays was him making a tackle on a five yard gain on an inside zone run. And another where he hit the back while he was already being tackled by two other people for a ten yard gain. Lol.

Thanks Sam, but I'll take Garner, Saban, Jimbo, Kirby, and literally every other coach in college footballs evaluation over yours because you watched one game.

Not to mention 247's evaluation of him has him as a 1st rounder compared to Leonard Williams. But yeah man, you're an expert.

Sure thing. We know a potential 4* or 5* bust when we see one because we've seen a ton of them. Rae Sykes, Gerald Riggs, Brandon Warren. I can only recall a few highly touted recruits worthy of their high ranking (Josh and Daniel Bullocks, John Henderson (aka baby shaq) and Cade Mayes since I've been watching or played there.

Not a meaningful contributor straight out of highschool. Never played in college up to a 5* potential. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't anything special.

Him being recruited heavily isn't evidence that he is worthy of his title as the #1 recruit in the country. It is evidence that he's worth recruiting, which I've agreed with. My argument is that he is overrated (not hard to be overrated when you're being touted as the best there is).

One game does not determine anything. Dude is out of shape. He won't be in a couple of weeks. The talent is there which is why he's so heavily recruited and projected as a first round talent.

He didn't meet expectations of a 5* recruit who (like Nolen) was labeled the #1 recruit in the country. We can argue about the definition of a bust, but Riggs was a letdown from expectations. Maryville fans could've told you it was coming though. Lol

Injuries. 1000 yard rusher and preseason All-American and mentioned Heisman candidate in 2005…the magical season. Maryville fans butt burping dirty air about any player who makes them eat their own butt isn’t prophecy…it’s volume. He was never the #1 recruit in the country. Don’t even remember him as the #1 ranked RB. 2000 yards in an injury shortened career and 18 touchdowns isn’t arguable for “bust”. Quit embarrassing yourself, Elijah.

Edit: Went back and checked. #1 ranked RB 7th ranked overall player.

What about body language? Head down moping around all night. What about the attitude that would allow him to come into the season overweight and badly out of shape? That's not what #1 recruits do. And I've got news for you. A couple of weeks of conditioning isn't going to fix him. He needs more than a physique and conditioning overhaul. He needs to be a relentless competitor. He wasn't last night.

He hasn't been in a high school program. He's been at Powell for like two weeks. You're being ridiculous tbh.
