Lol. Riggs has a trophy case full of preseason awards.

And Riggs didn't make us "eat out own butt". He had like 50 yards of offense against us. He was a total non-factor (like Nolen last night) and was dejected and mopey when he played us (like Nolen last night). The red flags are there for Nolen.

What about body language? Head down moping around all night. What about the attitude that would allow him to come into the season overweight and badly out of shape? That's not what #1 recruits do. And I've got news for you. A couple of weeks of conditioning isn't going to fix him. He needs more than a physique and conditioning overhaul. He needs to be a relentless competitor. He wasn't last night.

Lighten up Francis. Walter Nolens don't grow on trees. None of us know what his workout regimen was during the pandemic. All I know is that he has the god given talent and ability to be one of the best Tackles in the country while wearing orange. I pray we bring him to the Hill and Coach Garner is able to mold this young man into a force no one wants to see across the line of scrimmage from them.

You don't see anything wrong with that? He's overweight and out of shape coming into an important season. He couldn't be bothered to lift weights and condition on his own in the off season? That is a glaring issue, imo. All this talk about talent and potential, but how much potential do you expect to realize from a guy who isn't motivated?

-Doesn't have to show for 1st block
-Has a tutor (aka a person who does the work)
-Allowed to use his phone at any part of the day to keep his social media active

That's just the list of demands he had that were on the table. There is o telling what Powell gave him under the table to enroll.

I'll be glad to get him, but I won't be expecting him to be John Henderson. I'm setting the bar where it should be for a guy who isn't an intrinsically motivated competitor: fairly low.

Henderson had to build up to it. Didn’t participate as a freshman in the 98 championship due to grades. After his epic sophomore season, he declined significantly in his last season. That clinic in malaise he and Haynesworth conducted against LSU and their backup QB doing draws all night long was particularly shameful. Hope Garner gets more out of Nolen overall.

Riggs wasnt a 5 Star imo. But def a mid to upper 4. Kid showed flashes. Maybe just a tad slow but when he wanted too he turned it on.

That game vs Auburn he was mean.

That run to beat Corndogs...dude was a beast. He was always in Fulmer's dog house is why he didnt get more touches. In a lot of ways he was as good or better than Ced. Ced did little things.

More than that but that’s all he needed to surpass you. He was the whole team as a senior…junior season he had some help and won the championship and Red Bank finished nationally ranked. Less mopey I guess?

Sam man, just take the L on this one. Sure, he's out of shape and may not have competed to the highest level last night. But the dude has the absolute potential to be a first round draft pick. Could he falter? Sure. But he's got all the potential in the world.

I could never understand why we didn't stop getting so far up the field on a backup QB. I could never understand why we didn't make him beat us with his arm and stay in a more gap control type scheme after the third or fourth consecutive big run from Mauck.

Just because he is out of shape doesn’t mean he is not a really good football player. He fixes that and there aren’t many that can stop him.
