I still predict TN will end up with the number 1 class as Lane Kiffin said. What I would like in this thread are thoughts on the EE class, and how that impacts the final class.

TN signs 27 only if they assume they know every single player gets past the clearinghouse and they have no one with questionable academics. If that is the case then Broussard and some others will get dumped and it explains why Irvin is ASU bound.

Read this about a five star LB from last year who decommited from USC to go to ASU:
USCFootball.com recruiting analyst Gerard Martinez reported.
“I had a chance to catch up with Corona (Calif.) five-star linebacker Vontaze Burfict today. Unfortunately, it looks like unless he has a change of heart, Burfict will decommit from USC and commit to Arizona State,” Martinez wrote on one of the site’s message boards.
“At this point, he says he’s 60-40 ASU, but I think that number is closer to 80-20 ASU. He gave his visit to USC pretty low marks, although ASU only received a 8.5. The Sun Devils coaching staff has him convinced he won’t make it academically at USC, and he felt like that was a concern not properly addressed during his visit last weekend."

I believe that we can start to assess when we have a few more players fall into place what our final class will look like.

If Tyler Bray comes in and looks bigger and stronger right off the bat, I think the coaching staff will pass on Simms and Cam Newton. A QB controversy for the future face of the team is not needed.

If nothing else, EE means we can put to death the Scroggins rumors. That guy has broken more message board hearts than any prospect I can remember, but in January when he is safely getting used to the bench he will sit on for 3 years we can finally let it go.

Guys who I think go to other schools like Scroggins who we can quit pining over by Jan 1 include Kyle Prater, Ronald Powell, James Hurst, Rob Chris and Tyson Chandler (who I cannot believe are going to both be a part of an otherwise crap class at NC State that includes Fre'Shad Hunter as the only other player who we would take from them) Dorsey, Matt Elam and the one that hurts the most...Jeff Luc.

Our Early Enrollee guys come in. At that point on campus at UT you have:
Jacques Smith DE
Jose Jose OL
Tyler Bray QB (EE like Stafford, Tebow and Jacory Harris Recruiting: Impact of early enrollees - AthlonSports.com)
Channing Fugate FB
Brandon Willis DT
Corey Miller DE
Pat Harris DL
Matt Milton WR

I do not think it is difficult at all to predict that we get Dietrich Riley. I am going to go out on a limb and say we get Leifheit and JaWuan James (who can help us bring his HS QB on next year) as EE. Morgan Moses is also a possibility and I believe he is an EE.

After we get our Early Enrollee class in, our board will be much smaller for the reasons described earlier, but we will also have momentum with lots of participants in the All America games.

James Stone is not an EE and if we miss on the guys I talked about above we press hard for him.
Damien Robinson is also not an EE.
Arie Kouandjio has us in his top 3 with Miami and Alabama and is not an EE. I will be shocked if one of the previous 3 guys is not at Alabama. I am hoping it is Stone which means we get Robinson or Arie K (whose little brother looks absurd). I was lots more excited about John Cullen before it turned out he could not enroll early from JC.
Chaz Green has parents who went to UT, I do not believe he is an EE and we are battling Florida for his services. He wants us to win more games than last year and have a stud recruiting class around him before he commits, which is still possible.

TN is in it for lots of 4 and 5 star guys who are not EE. How much room do we have? Depends on who decommits.

Marques Pair has a coach in Sorrells who is a UT fan and we do not want piss off the Sumter program, but I still believe he "decides" to go to UNC or another school.

Broussard is an academic casualty probably.

Delvin Jones, J.C. Copeland, Ralph Williams (academics)?

This opens up the door for us to try at RB for Lattimore to come with his teammates, Bernard to come with his, maybe Gore as a burner at RB or the guy I want most who is likely Auburn bound in Dyer.

I think we will use lots of the 3-4 spots available on LB. Our depth there is not great and it is such a key piece for Monte's defense to succeed.

I am looking forward to our EE and I think that success in the first recruiting class of this football season will lead to success in the second as well as good results on the field next year as guys contribute as true freshmen.

Not sure if Zach Fulton is an EE. Would be happy if he is because they can get him in the weight room and help him gain weight.

There's no way you can factor in who and how many recruits will be lured away from us. We always talk about who we might steal from UF, UGA, and LSU, but they will surely take some of ours, just like Irvin decommitted last week. I think these other SEC coaches may just lay back on trying to make a push for other recruits from other schools, then snatch them away closer to NSD, effectively giving us little chance to replace them.

1. Jacques Smith DE
2. Jose Jose OL
3. Tyler Bray QB
4. Channing Fugate FB
5. Brandon Willis DT
6. Corey Miller DE
7. Pat Harris DL
8. Matt Milton WR
9. Zach Fulton OL
10. Dietrich Riley S
11. TJ Leifheit OL
12. JaWuan James OL
13. Morgan Moses OL

At that point January 1 you have a class that is pretty incredible and you have 15 slots left. Wait a minute we already have commits! Yes we do and here are the guys I can under no circumstances see the staff cooling on or losing gradeswise.
14. Markeith Ambles
15. Delvin Jones (who we need at TE)
16. Michael Palardy
17. Demarco Cobbs
18. John Brown (if he can get it and does not continue to have the academic issues that sent him to JC from Florida)
19. Corey Lemonier comes in and J.C. Copeland leaves...upgrade for UT.
20. Chaz Green or Damien Robinson come in and Marques Pair leaves...upgrade for UT.
21. Kenny Stills comes at WR and 22. Meline moves to safety...good news for UT
23. RB Bernard or Gore maybe although I would love Dyer. Lattimore is still possible although he does not seem that interested and many of us cringed as he fumbled again and again and again against STA.
24. Reaves pulls John Fulton from USCe or Wright is pulled from USC at CB.
25.
26.
27.

Some part of a large group of studs. Need at least 2 LBs in those 3 slots if the others came true.

Michael Taylor and Ralph Williams will be competing for LB slots with guys like Shirley if they can both make the grades.

Reaves pulled Willis and Miller to come (obviously wanting to be coached by Monte) and he may have the most important work left on staff.

Keenan Allen DB 6-3 195 4.56 Greensboro, NC
Lots of people are saying no shot, but this guy would be incredible obviously.
A.J. Cann OL 6-3 260 5.1 Bamberg, SC
we lost him to USCe but that Halloween game will be important!
Ethan Farmer TE 6-2 257 4.85 Tabor City, NC
Our only TE left on the board I think
John Fulton DB 6-1 180 4.43 Manning, SC
down to us and USCe
Chaz Green OL 6-6 290 Tampa, FL
TN parents and down to us and UF
Victor Hampton DB 5-11 170 4.5 Darlington, SC
We are in his top 5 after he decommitted from UF.
Christian Jones LB 6-4 220 Winter Park, FL
probably FSU bound but has to compare UT with Tampa's genius to Mikki Andrews and a slipping program.
Gabe King DE 6-6 253 4.6 Eugene, OR
He or Lemonier would be ridiculous and I still think we are in his top 5.
Marcus Lattimore RB 6-0 210 4.46 Duncan, SC
T.J. Leifheit OL 6-7 300 5.39 9/12/2009 Wilmington, NC
hope to get him soon
Terrence Mitchell DB 5-10 165 Tampa, FL
Can we get a visit? FSU lock?
Kelcy Quarles DT 6-4 250 4.7 Greenwood, SC
Trying to pull him from the Gamecocks also.
Nickell Robey DB 5-8 165 4.4 Frostproof, FL
almost glad he is going to UGA. Will not be sad if Riggs is at UF. I think our tall WR will destroy either...
Kenny Shaw WR 6-0 160 4.5 Orlando, FL
We trail FSU but have not given up
Prince Shembo LB 6-2 232 4.62 Charlotte, NC
lost to ND almost surely...

Irvin was not stolen. ASU convinced him his grades would prevent him from getting in. SEC core class requirements

We have to sign another QB in this class. Don't be surprised if Stephens leaves during the offseason!

It would be a nice dream class but I am not sure where you get all your info. C Jones doesn't have UT listed for a visit as of yet. K Allen will is not going to visit UT. Arie K. is really looking at ND now that they are also recruiting him for BBall. I could go on but I see alot of players on there that UT doesn't really have a chance at. And J Fulton down to UT and USC, I am laughing at that please provide a link.

Jones has said a couple of times that we will get a visit. We have been in his top 5 for a while...

We are top 3 for Arie, maybe 2nd...

I think we will get Allen on campus. We are making a strong push for him...

We have no shot at Fulton...

Allen is pretty much done with his recruiting and I think we get him unless he goes against his family and chooses Oregon. This one is all done. Fulton just announced this past week that after his visit to the UA-USC game on Oct. 17th he will make his decision between UA and USC. I also will call it now that if Arie plays in the SEC it will be for UA. Jones now that his recruiting is wide open who knows. Rumor has it he might visit us for the UA-UT game but with a few slots left I think CJ Mosley and J Hicks are alot higher on the board both going to be here for the USC game.

I'm not saying we are going to get Alen by any means. I think he goes to Bama. But I think he will visit UT...

I think Arie goes to Bama too, but I think we have a shot at him...

I am not sure where Arie ends up, but I think we have the best shot for an SEC team with him. The latest articles with Allen are looking like he may commit any time. I think he is still wanting to visit Oregon but even that might not happen now.

We have room for 2 of the 3 and there apparantly might be one other we are looking at. The truth is though if some of the other players that seem to be leaning our way commit we might only take one more OL in this class. Which is fine by me if these other players come on board.
