Mods merge if necessary. I felt like this deserved its own thread. Too much clutter in the Rivals 100 thread.

Kyle Phillips has been bumped to a 5* giving us 3 total. This also moves us to 5th in the country!

Fun fact: before the reevaluation Bama had 6 5*s and now have only 4.

Also USC had a 5 star turned into a 4 star and it is still mind blowing as to how Clemson is still ahead of us. Rivals should do something about the point system because we have, I think, 4 more 4 stars and the same amount of 5 stars but because we have more guys committed that happen to be 3 stars we get punished for it. :banghead2:

I think the most important idea coming out of these updated final rankings is that all of our commits were ranked higher than they were originally. I think this says alot about CBJ and his staff's ability to evaluate talent.

I'd be interested to see what schools had commits who fell in the rankings.

Clemson has more top 100 guys committed than we do. They are worth more points.

It's based off of the points of those 4*s.
Doesn't matter tho, I wouldn't trade classes.
Give them props, a class of that stature to Clemson????

Actually Bussey and P Willy fall out of the top 100. So that will hurt us in the rankings. Still hoping Ford and Abernathy make the jump to 4 star. That would move us in front of Clemson for sure.

A bit ridiculous that we are not in their top 3, but who cares in the end. We have a great recruiting class that addresses critical needs for the future of the team!

Give ClemSum 8 5* players and they will still pull at least one "ClemSum" during their season. Look at the FSU game this past season. The OBC has owned them with the exception of this year. Dirt farmin' illiterates IMO.

How do you get that number? No math I've been able to do gets us to that point. Maybe we should have EngineerVol help us out.

I was thinking rivals only counts the points of your highest rated 20 players. That eliminates a large class winning just on sheer numbers and levels the playing field for every team. Every teams 20 best compared to everybody elses 20 best. Rivals Top 100 players do earn more points I believe than 101-250 even if they are all 4*'s after er about 30-35 on the list. IIRC.

Average star rating doesnt matter when ranking Rivals recruiting classes. Its based on points, and only the top 20 count. So Townsend, Lovingood, Bruce and others dont even count

When you got talent like we got in the last 2 classes, it doesn't matter if we are ranked 1 or 7th, as long as there talent shows on the field, talent like we are getting now wins you CHAMPIONSHIPS.:clapping:
