If he commits to Bama today, perhaps he too will get "close to 7 figures" in NIL endorsements b/c he's now linked to the brand in college football.

So he wants to go to a wing t offense? Hope his talent doesn’t get squandered like that.

I'm sure. All my kids graduated from Beech. I played for Hershel Moore (one of the originators of the modern wing T) at Beech, and Roger Holmes (the innovator of the wing T) at Beech. Coach Anthony Crabtree does not run the wing T.

Need to see him run in a straight line real fast. I’ve been reading that’s more important than throwing in Heupel’s offense. 😏
“My arm can out run everyone. Running? Why waste the energy? That’s what WR’s and RB’s get paid for. Ain’t no QB with a rocket laser arm got time for that hogwash. A light jog to celebrate a touchdown pass…maybe. But run to run? That’s just stupid.”——Peyton Manning

Not an actual quote…but I’m sure he’s thought that.

Wasn’t the wing T created in like the 40s? How the hell old are you?!

The single wing was created in the 40's which evolved into more of the current wing T in the 70's. When the wing T was in its early stages, most teams were running the wishbone, power I, and split back veer. Also, option offenses were becoming all the rage (which also evolved from the single wing). I'm 47, but my coach (Hershel Moore) had been coaching since the 50's.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying

Hershel Moore essentially wrote the wing T Bible. Before he eventually retired from being head coach at Cumberland University, his playbook looked like a small stack of Encyclopedias. Roger Holmes, his greatest pupil, still coaches high school football in Georgia, and has won at least one state championship. I believe at least one of his sons (Tom) is still coaching as well. Coach Moore is credited with naming the jet sweep, if that gives you any reference.

Oh okay cool I didn’t know they got with the times. I thought someone said in the tight ends thread that still ran it that’s why he wasn’t getting looked at too much

They don't run the wing T, but they still run the ball 40+ times a game. They are capable of using the tight end with a capable QB though. They did it very well during their last state title run when Jalen Hurd was there. I believe the starting TE had nearly 600 yards receiving that year.
