Just wanted to throw a little love to local East Robertson player who's third in the state in rushing. Has NC State, Mizzu, and UK offers. Kid is awesome and his little brother Zach just got an offer from us. Their older brother Elijah is ranked 2 in the state and committed to UK. Would hate for all 3 of them to go to UK, because watching in person they are incredible.

Side note their cousin Taylor was a 4 star who is at Ole Miss and other cousin Shaun is a 24 commit for UT Martin. Talented family all at the same little school.

I just coached against these kids a few weeks ago.

The running back is a stud. He finished the game with over 200 yards and 100 of them cane on 2 carries.

The older brother #2 is a good reciever. Defensively he is all over the field.

I wasnt very impressed with the DE. He takes plays off a lot of the time. They have another DE #9 that i thought was much better

Surprised we haven't yet offered the 2024 Edge who's the eldest brother. Committed to UK.

Cousins. Carlus was a full grown man at ER. Bowed his neck up on Shaq.
I believe that was ‘92. Shaq bullied people and fouls weren’t called so Groves took matters into his own hands. Dale Brown freaked out and a full on brawl was narrowly avoided. I was in highschool at the time and I was ready to fight that night. LSU fans see him as dirty…TN fans saw him as not gonna take it anymore. Refs let Shaq get away with murder. Groves wasn’t gonna back down.

I played against him in HS and AAU. I never knew him to back down from much of anything. Dale Brown is revered by many but he stirred the pot constantly in recruiting and with the officials. I saw Carlus about 5 years after the Shaq encounter and we had a good laugh talking about it.

I would like to have a picture of him slamming Shaq and have him sign it. It would be on my VOLS wall.

Any relation to former Tennessee basketball player Carlus Groves?

I thought it was an entertaining game despite the refs trying to get as much TV time as possible. Zach was a monster on the DL in the first half. That kid is going to be a big time player.
Oh nice, I just saw the 615Preps tweets after every quarter haha

Groves ran for 3,085 yards and 31 touchdowns on 277 carries, leading East Robertson to a 13-2 record and its first state championship game appearance. The junior running back finished with 36 total touchdowns and 3,510 all-purpose yards, 120 off the TSSAA's record for most in a single season. His single-season rushing total ranks fourth in Tennessee history.

...Groves packed on 20 pounds of muscle in between his sophomore and junior season. "(He has) the ability just to run through tackles instead of just getting hit and them taking him down," Brooks said. "Him being stronger and faster, he can break some of these arm tackles."

Groves, a three-star recruit per 247Sports, has seven Division I offers, including Kentucky, Missouri and North Carolina State. He's thinking about following his older brother, Elijah, to college. Elijah Groves, a 4-star senior linebacker, decommitted from Kentucky on Tuesday and is considering NC State and Purdue, according to Isaiah.

Mr. Football winner Isaiah Groves proves he's worthy of unretiring East Robertson legend's number
