I'm getting it on FSN in Durham, so it is being televised in at least one part of ACC hell.

the vols have such a big chance to shoot up the polls tommorrow with a win. with ALOT of top 25 teams fallin this week so far (nc state, udub, WV, michigan state, florida, and plenty of others to follow) If we can just win tommorrow we are getting in to the top 15. my question is, what is the highest the men have been ranked in the past 10 years?

hmm intresting. well I think the vols will take care of buisness tommorrow, I have a feeling the crowd is going to be pushing 23,000 tommorrow..

I think we peaked at #3 during Green's last year, then the bottom completely fell out.

yep, much like football this year....except for that year if I remember correctly we started at like 12-0 or something...the the sky fell down.

Yes. I've confirmed we were #4 in the AP poll for the week of January 15, 2001. For some reason, I thought we hit #3 that year. I'm trying to find the poll that came out right before Virginia hammered us at the Meadowlands that year.

As good as a couple of those teams were, Jerry Green definitely had a way of starting like a house on fire and then wilting down the stretch.

It appears we were #4 going into that Virginia game. That's the highest I remember the Vols being ranked.

It seems like we played Florida somewhere in there when we were both in the top 10.

That is correct. If we play the same first half as we played in Columbia, this one will be an "L." I just don't think this is the kind of team that needs to get down and then rely on a big second-half comeback. Sure, it happened, but you can't count on that every game. We need to come out fired up, gain momentum from the crowd, and keep the lead.

I think SC will keep it close in the first half, but we gradually start to pull away in the second half. SC is not a bad team at all, really. There's definitely some talent there. I've never been sold on Dave Odom as a coach.
