second time in three years that the school conveniently failed to notice that one of its players was getting lots of payola from agents and/or their runners while at the school. Same thing with Reggie Bush--and in both cases I'm sure the university was aware of wrong-doing, or could have investigated had it wanted to. Looking the other way, pleading (willful) ignorance, is not acceptable. Of course, basketball is a dirty business with these kids and the AAU deals, and the one-and-done-mentality. It stinks. If the kids want to declare for the NBA out of high school, fine. But if they accept a college scholarship, then the school is obligated to watch them and lose scholarships and get sanctioned. And the players should be forced to stay in school for two years. This system of using a university's good name for a year of development while you're effectively getting paid is BS. :salute:
