It appears he's accepted money from USC. It will be interesting to see what penalties USC will receive from all of this.

He didn't accept money from USC. He accepted money from a guy connected to a Sports Agent who pushed him to go to USC. Now, I don't know how that guy ties in with them, but either way if this turns out to be true USC will be in BIG trouble.

This is exactly what Tim Floyd deserves for taking OJ. I'll give Mayo credit, he's a star, but he's not worth all of the potential trouble he brought. He was a top 5-8 recruit last season, but the hype he got made it seem like he was the next Lebron James coming out of high school. I'm a Floyd fan, but he may be in trouble as well as the university.

NCAA reviewed everything before this story came out. USC isn't getting in trouble.

So what? Mayo may have gotten paid... big deal. USC probably made moeny on ticket sales/concessions and what not that pales anything they've made in any other season based on mayo coming there for one year. I'm sure USC is scratching their hair out about being concerned about a possible probation in men's basketball...

said they made a review of him during the season. Doesn't say they reviewed what has now been learned. The NCAA can simply re investigate the matter and if they find wrongdoing, USC can be forced to forfeit this season.

Will USC have to forfeit over any money or pay any fines?

that I don't know. I'm pretty sure they will have to prove that USC knew about it or had any connection to it to make them pay money. Could be wrong though.

however TVA, between this issue, Carmelo giving him tickets and the Reggie Bush issue, I bet the stress level is higher than usual in the Trojan athletic dept.

How hard is this case really?

Do we have proof that he had a big screen TV in his dorm room and if there is proof, where are the receipts and verification of how he got it. I'm not calling USC out on this, but if any athlete winds up with a flat screen big screen TV in their dorm isn't that going to raise a few red flags that something might be fishy?

also, just so you know VOLNBAMA, the NCAA has already said it's going to begin investigating this matter completely

Read has more than one definition. Read the defense, read the look on his face, read what is meant by what was said, etc...

second time in three years that the school conveniently failed to notice that one of its players was getting lots of payola from agents and/or their runners while at the school. Same thing with Reggie Bush--and in both cases I'm sure the university was aware of wrong-doing, or could have investigated had it wanted to. Looking the other way, pleading (willful) ignorance, is not acceptable. Of course, basketball is a dirty business with these kids and the AAU deals, and the one-and-done-mentality. It stinks. If the kids want to declare for the NBA out of high school, fine. But if they accept a college scholarship, then the school is obligated to watch them and lose scholarships and get sanctioned. And the players should be forced to stay in school for two years. This system of using a university's good name for a year of development while you're effectively getting paid is BS. :salute:

I hope the Grizz picks Mayo up, he is a very good player. I was REALLY wanting D. Rose to stay here in Memphis, but that doesn't look like its going to happen.
