To Buy or Not to Buy

Would you buy this game if you lived out of market and CBS wasn't showing it?

Here is the situation:

I live in Denver, CO and CBS is showing the Baylor - St. Mary's game.

I have DirecTV and have the option of ordering just the UT - OSU game for 24.95.

I can watch it on the internet for free.

So my question is, for this game, is it worth buying it?

What would you do?

If the wife says its ok, buy it. On another note, you live in Denver, are a UT Grad, and have Direct instead of Dish?

I'm with the others. If you can afford it, do it. I personally, would just watch it on the internet. That's maybe because I'm used to watching baseball, football, hockey, and MMA games on the net.

It's funny you mention that. I thought about this the other day.

My allegiance to the Orange is thick, but not when they partner with inferior products. :)

Why not find a bar with the game and spend the $25 on a snack and some cold ones?

With the high quality stream offered I would just watch it on the net but make sure you don't have the other game on because when you do this the game on your tube will be about 45 seconds ahead and when they have the score up you'll know what happens each time a team has the ball.

It's certainly cheaper than buying tickets + airfare + hotel. Not a bad deal. Especially if there is a chance your internet will go out, or if you have issues with slow/freezing computer while streaming video.

Personally, I would find a sports bar as option #1. I can watch it at home in HD, but not tonight. I need to be around other Vol fans for this game, rather than being stuck inside my house.

One advantage I've found to watching it online is that they don't jump games at the worst time ever like they do on tv. You can have Baylor and St. Marys playing on the tv, and UT-OSU playing on your computer, and the UT game will stay on UT until it's over. It's been nice.

Buy a cable to connect your PC to the television. Quality won't be as good as what you could get for $24.95, but if you use CBS's high quality player then it won't look all that bad.

That's what I had to do for the Ohio game.

That is not a bad idea at all. I think I even have one at the office.

I can't go to a bar because my wife is out and I have to look after my son - he is only 22 months otherwise I would take him with me, but I don't think so.

Thanks for all the feedback so far.

I wouldn't buy, I would watch online on my computer or hook it up to my TV.

But then, I'm kind of cheap.

That's what I'm doing with my misfortune of living in the small sliver of the country that will be showing the Baylor game instead of Tennessee-osu.

Streaming feed will look "interesting" on 50".

J/K with you anyway. I have DirecTv also.

If the wife says it's ok??...WOW. Married beneath you...huh?

No, not married right now. Dating above my head IMO. But old enough and been married enough to have learned how to get in the last word with a woman:
Yes, mam.

Wait until 5:00 Mountain Time, and see what VolNation has voted for you to do in the poll. By doing this, you can blame us if the Vols lose and we voted for you to buy it, or if we vote for you not to buy it and the Vols win, once again, the blame is on us...

Problem solved. That will be $24.95! :)

Watching the stream online is always a better option. It's not like it's a championship game. You just have to be able to find one with decent res.

Spend the $25 bucks cheap skate. Who ever has to check with their wife/gf to spend $25 is whipped beyond belief.
