Coach Pearl mentioned before the game that the offense has to run through his hands. I don't know that passing him the ball 40 feet from the basket every play is exactly what he was looking for ha-ha. Tobias is by far the most talented player on our team we have to feed him the ball closer to the basket.

I don't know that our system advertises enough from the half-court to prove "one and done" status.

Tobias will be around for 2 years imo. I think him or his dad said something about not being 1 and done when he was recruited.

I'm just very confused about our identity as a team at this point. Bruce enjoys having a 10 man rotation due to his style of full court press and getting up and down the court. Now we are running more half-court set-ups, but subbing like we are running full-court press. The players cannot get in a rythym.

The two words to describe his play is "under control"...this will be an enjoyable season watching him.

Disagreed, Hopson is. If he gets going, this team is top 10 good. However from the early looks of it, Hopson, Harris and Tatum look like the only 3 who can score the ball!

22 wins this season , win a first rounder , bounced in second from what i've seen so far, hopefully our guard play and post improves

Dude, this team looked BAD tonight. They can't even pass. Harris looked good, and Hopson had his moments (intermittently--per usual), but other than that I was kind of shocked. The youth is more striking than I thought it would be. Orange tinted glasses I guess...

He could have had 25 with a competent half-court offense tonight.

Also, if Brian Williams doesn't get in foul trouble, this would have been a 20pt. game. They couldn't stop him when he was on the floor.

I think you're getting a little carried away with that one.

Wasn't talking about his scoring. They couldn't handle his size. That game is nowhere near as close as it was if he doesn't get in foul trouble.

I'm tired of hearing about his "basketball IQ" from announcers that have not ever seen him play. He is an awesome talent that works his butt off to get better but he is a freshman making freshman mistakes-charghing,out of control and getting to know his teammates. I have heard Larry Bird and great basketball IQ too much.

I'm not saying you're wrong but you have got to be the only person in the world who can look at a team scattered with new players (and without a player if you count Maymon) and tell how their season is going to end up after seeing only two games against subpar competition. You Sir, have some serious skill.:eek:k: Care to tell me what the winning lottery numbers are going to be? (in a private message of course :))

Agreed.... And that seems disappointing. Six years ago we would be ecstatic about a tourney win

IMO this is tennessee's most talented team in a long time. But seeing this team for the first time last night on the U, I'd say that they looked pretty un-organized. No IDENTITY if you will. I dont know if its because of the news on Pearl and possible santions coming down. Would really suck to not be able to take this team to the tourney especially if they do start to mesh well.

Everyone can agree Tobias is as good as advertised. Tatum is very underrated. Goins flys all over the place. Brian has come into his own. And if Hopson can be the "mcdonalds all-american" (that Pearl has never had) then this team could go pretty deep in the tourney. The future is bright but I wont feel good until this black cloud over our program gets lifted. Just my 2 cents. GO VOLS!
