Today Spurrier was Out Coached

Spurrier wasted those two TO's back to back and tried to trick us but it didn't worked. The announcers said the he was just trying to see what D we were setting up.

I admit that I questioned Butch when he punted but in the end it was the correct decision.

he really looked lost calling those 2 timeouts so late in the game when you clearly always punt in that situation. is he becoming senile?

Spurrior took the blame after the first half for poor play calling. Surely he will be just as honest to the SC press after the game?!?

Nah, won't happen!

I love it, today Spurrier was out coached by Butch Jones!
Let Spurrier bring on all the excuses!
Spurrier certainly made mistakes but I don't see that he was outcoached. Our play calling was not that good this game. We won because of defense and heart. GO VOLS

From beginning to end. And Spurrier, the two timeouts back to back on 4th down? Go for it if you have the gonads, or punt it away if you don't, but wasting time outs like that - wow! His arrogance was his demise today.

Team starting to believe they can play with anyone. When we get some more studs to plug in we are going to be a force again on the national radar.

Spurrier was hoping the Vols would jump offsides. He seemed to have forgotten for a few moments that Derek Dooley is no longer on the other sidelines.

I was under the impression that back to back timeouts was illegal and would result in a 5-yd penalty. Is this just an NFL rule? I could swear I've seen that happen before.

This is poetic justice for me. Spurrier won his first game in Neyland, on the day we retired Petyon's number and it was my 21st birthday. Needless to say the day had lost some luster. It was 2005, Fulmer's first losing season as the head coach and, unknown to us at the time, a signal that his best days were behind him as a coach. Now, Butch & co. get a huge win against Spurrier, their first against a ranked opponent and an SEC team. I take it as a signal that Butch is about to have his best years ahead of him. It's good to be a Vol today.

Butch and his defensive staff had an outstanding game.

Bajakian really really concerns me. Either Worley has no strengths or (more than likely) Bajakian doesn't know how to playcall to them.

at least Spurrier called it like he saw it at half, "we are getting our butts kicked"! Lot more than Holtz or Mark May said at half! I was appalled that nothing was said about Jones and effort of TN when we are leading #11 at half by 2 scores!

Nice job by our coaches and players despite some things that alot of us may have questioned at the time.

It's really is poetic justice that the old ball coach was the 1st to get bUTch slapped as we take our first small steps back up the mountain to National status in the next few years as bUTch totally rebuilds our team.

It certainly is a great day to be a Tennessee Vol or a fan!!!

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!
