I know what you mean but I could respect that decision. Going for the high dollar scholarship that will open a lot of doors if you graduate is not a dumb move. I'll be really sick if Spurrier gets him though.

Yep. A choice of Vanderbilt over UT would be a sign that he sees his future as being in a profession other than football, which means the kid is probably extremely bright (in that most college football players don't end up with an NFL career, and most high school football players aren't sharp enough to realize that fact).

It's being reported everywhere that Campbell will commit to the Vols today.

I don't personally know the kid, but I know his father pretty well. Without ever meeting him I can tell you this kid is a class act!! I have no doubts about that. We will never have to worry about reading about him in the papers for beating his girlfriend or selling crack or any of that crap we are used to hearing. He is a clean cut kid and will be a good addition to the program.

I remember the days when we were competing with powerhouses for kids. Now we are competing against Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Mississippi State.

Well, we got a Wide Receiver that Steve Spurrier wanted. That alone makes this a pretty good commit.

This kid had scholarship offers from all those schools plus Bama and Kansas St. and I'm sure there would have been more if he remained uncommitted This is a very good get for us. I'll be shocked if he is less than 4* when they start doing post evaluation ratings.

as vol hillbilly said, Bama and KSU offered him a scholarship also

Miami, Florida, Notre Dame among others were interested in him also, but came into the picture too late and never had enough time to communicate with him and offer, etc...

btw, THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!

Jason....its April, man. He has some very solid offers for it to be this early in the year. He has more offers that Top 5 WR Tim Harthorne had at this time last year.

He was recieving interest from a lot of schools other than the ones who had officially extended an offer. A lot of schools make offers to a lot of prospects after the month of April....lol.......Stop being so negative. Its a very good pickup. He will likely be a 4* prospect according to the "experts" at both Scout.com and Rivals.com.

By the way, we we likel yrecieve a committment from 5* OT Darris Sawtelle over the weekend. He has offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Nebraska, etc already.
