This is ridiculous. Please let these MAC teams say no. I can't imagine a MWC without Boise, Fresno, SDSU, etc is worth enough to make this worth it.

I fail to see how joining the MWC as football only members would benefit either school. Texas State and/or UTEP would make sense as full members.
100% agree; One foot in both underwhelming worlds.
MAC and MWC are going to get desperate for cash flow to stay as relevant as possible. They see the writing on the wall and their options are all limited.

Conference USA is irrelevant now. AAC, with the service academies plus Memphis, USF, Tulane, and North TX, MWC, and the MAC each have a handful of successful programs, plus Wash St and Oregon St. There are probably enough quality programs in those conferences to cobble together something with East/West Divisions.
I don't know if it makes sense, but these programs on the outside of the money bubble will be forced to take some chances to make something happen to increase revenues.

I'd like to see the MWC take UTEP and NMSU. When TX State leaves the Sunbelt, the SBC should take LA Tech, MTSU, and WKU.

At this level, keep it geographically compact and develop natural rivalries. There isn't that much TV money at stake.
