(UPDATE 11/24) We are told today a tentative agreement on an offer in principle between USC and Tom Herman has been reached. The deal is contingent on Herman and his wife liking what they see when they visit USC and Herman and Ray Tanner being comfortable with one another. That visit could take place as early as Sunday or the first part of next week depending on the outcome of Houston’s game Friday with Navy. A Houston loss would expedite the process. All information at this time points toward Herman. All other names are simply fallback prospects should things not work out with Herman.

USC AD in talks with Tom Herman and apparently Herman is very interested.

USC would be a good team to cut your teeth on in SEC. Good enough support and facilities and less crazy expectations. If I wanted to get into a big big program it's a good place.

My sister, a Gamecock, swears up and down that Herman is going to be the new coach and Cardale Jones is going to show up with him

Where's this from? Weird, because I had heard the talks had cooled a little bit, but at this time of year things change in an instant

Tom Herman isn't going to USCe, at least not yet. He will wait to see what other schools offer. South Carolina isn't even a remotely top job and he is a hot commodity

Hopefully the extra salary Houston is going to pony up for Herman will keep him coaching the rising Houston Cougars. If he does leave i want Houston to hire Campbell away from Toledo to coach the Cougars.

Cardale is a rJR, so he can't transfer unless it is as a grad transfer, which means he would have to have graduated.

He might have played his last game at tOSU, but his next stop is the NFL, not USCe.

The article says he already has his degree.

Knowing our luck, SCar will get Tom Herman and Cardale. We finally beat Florida next year thinking we are the team to beat for the SEC east. But then, out of nowhere, SCar turns out to be a top 5 team and wins the SEC. We finish second.

Pathetic dude - eternal pessimist.

Cardale gonna play defense for them?

Kinda of a step down, yeah? I mean, USC at its best will probably never win a Natty. Houston won't either but at least they have less pressure. Herman should hold out for a better job.

Looks like Tom Herman will be staying at Houston because South Carolina wants Kirby Smart

Yesterday the AD was all-Herman now Herman is off the table and Kirby Smart is the frontrunner? Sounds about right. The college coaching search carousal is going to be fun to watch this year.

Leveraging. SCar AD really wanted him. I believe they had an offer for him. He is probably just testing the waters.
