Speaking of elite recruiters the Cougars are currently #18, when was the last time Houston football recruiting was ranked in the Top 20-25?

Let's put this in perspective during Briles' five years at the helm his best finish was #59 in 2003 and Sumlin's best was #63 in 2010, neither one ever lead their team into the Top 20.

You would need to go back to 1999 under Helton where they finished #1 and Helton? Well, he didn't see 2000

That is impressive. I doubt he will be there to sign that class next February. My guess is that he is Austin bound. If the going gets tough this year for Urbie and he goes all Fred Sanford again, then Columbus could be a possibility. You just never know with Urbie what he might pull.

Using the link provided, how many teams finished #1 in 1999?

If I'm not mistaken he got a top 10 player to commit and sign with them last cycle, DT I think. Honestly I don't see why a lot of players don't do that, the guy should cause havoc in the AAC. Just a different perspective.

I'm fairly certain he had the advantage of already having that top 10 player's brother on the team, but still impressive at a G5 school.
