Was the gamecocks that bad tonight or was Vandy that much improved??? Maybe a lil both??

I see the SEC officials are as incompetent as they are every year. Good grief: a BLATANT pass interference call that was not called against sc may have cost vandy the game. You can count on SEC doofus's to screw up a couple of key calls in every game.

I was going to ask the same thing. :)

But all the sudden I feel a lot better about the SC game if they show up and play us like they did Vandy tonight.

I'd say this game probably proves a whole lot of nothing. This type of stuff happens every year. Just because SC struggled doesn't mean they still won't beat us, and just because VU hung close doesn't mean they're suddenly good.

I totally agree....horrible mistake that possible....no ill go ahead and say it did cost the game for vandy. Vandy had a really good chance to pull it out if that call was made accurately!

Yeah and we said that about several teams last year, and that game is several weeks away.

I bought tickets for the vandy game, just to be there to see him cry after we beat him down on there home field!!

No freaking way. Let's assume the PI is called, 15 yards, VU ball on the 45ish.

1st down: VU zone read for 2 yards.
2nd down: Rodgers sacked.
3rd down: Rodgers flushed, incomplete or 3 yard completion.
4th down: Rodgers flushed or sacked again, can't make the play; ball game.

Vandy wasn't going to do anything to SC's defense in the final 3 minutes. SC's D-Line couldn't NOT get pressure on Rodgers.

SCs offense was horrible. Reminded me of bad High School football

QB run
QB run
Pass
Run by Lattimore

Rinse repeat

Bad secondary play by SC

Only reason Vandy looked good is because SC looked so bad

End of story

South Carolina's defense seemed good enough but despite SC turning it over 2 times in the first 3 plays, Vanderbilt was still only able to score 13 points. 7 of those points came on a botched play.

And holding South Carolina to 17 points... Shaw was 7/11 for 67 yards 1nt. Thompson 0/3. Strickland 0/1. South Carolina's running game is impressive but their passing game sucks.

Vanderbilt's offense did nothing and their defense slowed down an inept offense. That's what I saw anyways...

I'm goin out on a limb to say that vandy woulda scored but we will never...now as far as sc....they don't deserve that #9 ranking and it surely will go away soon enough

Vandy may not have gained another yard but I would have much preferred for Vandy and SC to work that out rather than have the ref do it for everyone. That same wingnut may make a bad call against the Vols.

THE BEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL CONFERENCE DESERVES THE BEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL REFEREES!!! Maybe we should spend some of that TV money to make sure we have them.

The ref was right there, looking right at the play too.
