the weather's been crap, hasn't it? Not that that would typically matter, just throwing it out there.

Based on the first half, the ones that chose not to attend have seemed to come out on the better end of the deal

sorry, but that race wasn't boring. it was a great race. and it made it ever better seeing Gordon in 2nd with less than 2 laps left and spinning out :)

seems like that's the general excuse but i can't listen to it much more before i start looking towards other reasons.

Gasoline prices have to be a factor, plus the July race at Daytona rarely sells out. Even at night, it can be quite warm. The cost to attend a race are keeping most of the no-shows away, and then there are those like me who don't like the sanitized version of NASCAR.

this is exactly what i'm getting at. the product on the track isn't worth putting up with all the other stuff to more and more people.
