From ESPN:

"Former Tennessee assistant and onetime interim coach Tony Jones was at the camp. He filled in for Bruce Pearl for eight games during Pearl's SEC suspension for misleading NCAA investigators. Jones, who was fired along with the rest of the Tennessee staff, said he is going to South Korea to coach for 10 days and be evaluated for a head-coaching job. If that doesn't work out, he may try to work in the first division in Germany. If all that falls through, he plans to do radio in Knoxville and jump back into the NCAA in time for the 2012 coaching carousel cycle. He said the Committee on Infractions hearing in June has prevented him from landing another assistant coaching job this spring. He said Pearl also wants to have his hearing in order to defend himself and ultimately move on. "

He may have come out as bad as any one from this whole thing. He had mid-major HC jobs in hand last off season and stayed to hopefully land a big time gig and is now going to have to coach overseas.

It's what happens to you when you are a Pearl disciple.

TOS says Jones "reached out to an area powerhouse high school" about coaching job. Interesting. Any idea which one? I'm not up on area coaching vacancies.

Only good opening I can think of is Alcoa, but they are not a powerhouse. Gatlinburg-Pittman is a good job as well, but not a powerhouse either.

Assistant at Oak Ridge?

Only thing I can come up with.

The only powerhouse schools in Knoxville are Bearden and Fulton. Their is the connection with Green at OR, but again they aren't a powerhouse although Green is getting them turned around so they could be heading that way.

Tough to see going from lead assistant in the SEC to an assistant at a Knoxville high school but who knows?

Think Mike Dubose.
