6'3" PG from Washington. Has been rated as up to a top 5 prospect in the nation for 2011 and claims Tennessee is his favorite school. Here are two quotes about it:

From a 2005 Adidas Camp:
Tony Wroten, a 5’9 PG from Seattle, Washington, blew up during the camp. Everybody was talking about this kid’s game. Wroten is a big athletic guard with dynamite handle and aggression. Wroten love to take his opponent off the dribble with his superior handle and can take the bump and still finish. In this evaluator’s opinion, Wroten played his way to a top 5 national rankings.

From Rivals:

Earlier in July Wroten was invited to compete at the Reebok U Camp in Philadelphia. Wroten spoke about the opportunity to compete with the nation's top prospects, "The first couple of days we did mostly drills. There were some great college players there coaching us. Later in the week, we scrimmaged a bit. I went up against Brandon Jennings a few times, he was good, but I held my own."

A growing trend in college recruiting is the offering of scholarships to freshman and younger. While Wroten is regarded by many as a top ten prospect for the 2011 class, he has yet to nab an offer. "I don't have any offers yet," laughed Wroten who went on to say, "its real early still, but I really like Tennessee. I like Coach Pearl a lot; I think he runs a really good program." When asked if a commitment was pending, Wroten replied, "I don't plan on making my decision until my junior year. I want to make sure it's the right decision.

I don't want to make one decision and back out later. They [Tennessee] will be there at the end because they're my favorite school."

2011? Forgive me for my ignorance, but does that mean that he is a rising Freshman? wow...

That is *exactly* what it means. I graduate in '10 but hopefully I'll still be there getting my MBA or something in 2011 to see this kid (hopefully) play for the Vols.

Are you Football Freak/TennesseeAtlantaGordon24?

No?

I just find it weird/crazy that after just two years Bruce Pearl has a kid from 2000+ miles away from the University of Tennessee as his favorite school...

Pretty damned impressive, I'd say.

I have seen some of his videos. He is awesome. I have a friend that is an AAU basketball coach. I dont talk to him as much as I used to but he mentioned this kid from a tournament he attended this past summer. He said he was a freak.

article of him when he was in 8th grade.

He's the crown jewel of area recruits for the next decade.

An impact player in the same breath as former Bremerton High School star Marvin Williams, the second overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2005 NBA draft.
Someone who could compete in high school right now -- if only he were old enough.
That is the type of talk surrounding Tony Wroten, an eighth-grader at Washington Middle School in Seattle.
"Right now, he's kind of one of a kind," Williams said. "He's got that something special that already shows itself."
Murray agreed that Wroten is the real deal.
"He's legit," said Murray, who won a state title playing at Garfield in 1986. "The game slows down for him."
Considered by scouts as a top-five player in the class of 2011, Wroten inherited his sports pedigree from his parents.
His father, Tony Sr., played tight end for the Huskies in the early 1980s. His mother, Shirley (formerly Shirley Walker), was a standout sprinter for Garfield who later competed for Washington and Arizona State. His aunt, Joyce Walker, coach of Garfield's girls program, is regarded by many as the best female basketball player in state history. A 1980 Garfield graduate who set numerous records with the Bulldogs, Walker played professionally in Italy and Germany before joining the Harlem Globetrotters.
"In terms of bloodlines, that part is a done deal," Williams said.
On the court, Wroten is a commanding presence, a 6-foot-3 lefty point guard with all the skills -- passing, shooting, dribbling with power and finesse, defending, elevating, making his teammates better.
"I can do mostly everything," said Wroten, who'll turn 14 in April and will begin playing for Garfield next season.
So evident is his talent, Wroten has played up a grade level in Seattle's Rotary Style select program since he was 8.
"He's pretty much had to, it would be so unfair to other kids," his father said.
On the national scouting radar for the past two or three years, Wroten has kept busy over the past month.
On Jan. 14, he earned tournament MVP honors at the U.S. Elite camp at Baylor University in Texas. The next day, he drew the attention of UW coach Lorenzo Romar while playing for Rotary Style's 14-and-under team at a Martin Luther King Day tournament in West Seattle.
Most recently, Wroten was selected for Team Phenom, an Adidas national eighth-grade select team composed of the top 12 players in the country. The squad will travel to various tournaments over the next six months, including stops in New York and Italy.
Despite all the accolades, Wroten Sr. said his son isn't a finished product just yet.
"My biggest thing is to keep him focused and go get him better," Wroten Sr. said. "I have a quote I like to tell him: 'Somebody got better today, was it you?' "
In terms of schools he likes, Wroten isn't giving much away. He did say that whenever he plays college basketball in video games, he picks North Carolina.
"That's my team," Wroten said.

If he can hold his own with Brandon Jennings he is an absolute STUD. I seen Jennings play @ Hoopfest and during the ESPN Oak Hill Game (where they lost) and he is the man.
