Too much freedom?????

I thought you were going to be refering to this quote...
"
When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans ..." "And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities." President Bill Clinton, 3-22-94

Another example of an idiot view point from an idiot educated beyond his intelligence.

Kerry and his type believe that Government has to dictate everything....but it's not Socialism?

Thomas Paine where are you? This country needs a good shot of common sense.

:good!:

In another thread you mentioned the relationship of rural and urban political views.

Last year when dining out one evening, I ran into an old friend and coworker that I hadn't seen in several years and found that she was now in charge of our counties school libraries.

I said , great, I will give you a list of books our libraries should have if you'll put them on the shelves and she replied that would be nice and she would do it if she had any money, the problem is she didn't have any money to spend on new books.

Many years ago our school super sued the state to get the same amount per student as city schools get and after several years of litigation he won but guess what,
the state didn't comply with the court order!!!!

You can always depend on democrats for change though, that is the one damned thing they aren't lying about.

They changed it so that supers aren't elected by the people any more, they are now appointed by the boards and the boards think of the state as if it were a hornets nest, don't poke it no matter how long your stick.

In the up coming budget the state is increasing funding to the Memphis school system and cutting our a system whopping $2 million.

Not fair in any way but it plays well to the politically correct way of thinking.

Rural school systems have to spend much more on transportation and when we have gas hikes like we saw last year, it's a killer.

Not only are rural school systems in a position where they pay less for the same teachers than urban teachers and administrators, Nashville pays about three times as much per day for a substitute teacher as our area does.

Actually what we pay doesn't really pay for someone to get out of bed, they only do it because they care for the children.

jeez, this could turn into a really good rant!!! :)

And as soon as the first person wants to play the race card, let me say this, we have African Americans living here too!!

As a matter of fact this weeks local paper has the picture of an African American who is the Salutatorian of this years graduating class who is the daughter of an old friend of mine, I am going to be sure and call him this week to congratulate him, his family and her.

"

Here's are a couple more.

"We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans..."

"If the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution inhibit the government's ability to govern the people, we should look to limit those guarantees."
Bubba in chief.

"To achieve One World Government it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, their loyalty to family traditions and national identification."
Brock Chisholm, when director of UN World Health Organization

"There are a lot of very brilliant people who believe that the nation-state is fast becoming a relic of the past."
Slick Willy

"You can't say you love your country and hate your government." William Jefferson Clinton

I'm calling BS on that one Bubba!!! "I love my country and hate the US government for it's almost completely corrupted way of doing business in Washington DC!!
gsvol

So there.

"Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people... Be not intimidated, therefore, by any terrors, from publishing with the utmost freedom...nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberty by any pretenses of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery, and cowardice."
-- John Adams
