I can't believe our 1998 team didn't make this list. We were the first BCS NC winner and undefeated. Also we beat the mighty Florida St that year for the NC and their 1999 team made this list at #9. Can we just get a little love from somebody out there??

No way that team was top ten of all time. Quit being a baby.

They should have been first #1. As close to being provable as any team listed based on someone Else's opinion. I choose to beleive my own first..........

:eek:lol:

You beat FSU's backup QB in a game plagued by turnovers and mistakes.

That said, the Vols were the best team in the country that year and a very deserving national champion....but they were NOWHERE near Top 10 all-time.

I am still wondering how you think that team was anywhere near top 10 all time. If not for a bogus pass interference call against Syracuse and a really REALLY dumb call by Houston Nutt which resulted in a fumble, we wouldn't have gotten a sniff of a BCS title.

Agreed...by the end of the season we may have had an all time top 10 defense, but the offense was not prolific enough to propel UT onto this list.

What about the 1938 squad?

Outscored opponents 283-16...
Or the 39 that didn't allow a point til the bowl game (and somehow didn't get a NC)

The '01 Miami squad is probably the most talented team in history and Nebraska's '95 season was one of pure dominance. Tom Osborne vs Larry Coker, hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

'98 UT wouldn't have wanted any piece of '01 Miami. That team was absolutely sick.

Every agonizing minute.....

That said, losing to you guys in '01 hurt even more, even though it kept us from meeting a similar fate against that '01 Miami team.

Neither of us would have beaten Miami that year, but we would have kept it closer than Nebraska.

Agreed the '98 UT team doesn't belong on that list. That may have not been a blind squirrel finding an acorn, but it was like a 20/70 squirrel finding one. Right place, right time, lots of luck.

However, the old Neyland team that went undefeated and unscored on might deserve mention.

That '95 Nebraska team was insane. They were just out to destroy some people. I remember when they killed that poor Florida kid on that kickoff.

The '95 Nebraska team beat four top 10 teams, and their closest game was 23 points. Pure dominance.
