We all seem to be in agreement about the "quality" of Rivals current ratings...so I thought we could use this thread to post our own top 10 for the state of TN...here's mine:

2. Clear
3. Kerbyson
4. Washington
5. King
6. Redden
7. Crowder
8. Thomas
9. Downs
10. Dunaway or Robinson

Let me know what you all think :hi:

Any relation to Todd?

No relation to Todd Helton. He's a good kid.Grew up a Tennessee fan.Wish Tennessee would have offered him.I figure we will be loaded at linebacker with what we have coming in.And we are pursuing others that the staff seem to think fit the system better.

I would not have Redden in my Top 10. I just dont think he is good enough.

Mine would be:

1. Richardson (4* 6.0)
2. Clear (4* 6.0)
3. Kerbyson (4* 5.9)
4. Washington (3* 5.7)
5. Crowder (3* 5.7)
6. King (3* 5.7)
7. Dunaway (3* 5.6)
8. Thomas (3* 5.6)
9. Gibson (3* 5.6)
10. Downs (3* 5.6)

I doubt it. From Mike Farrell's tone over the Kerbyson questions, I would say it's just not going to happen, which is ridiculous in my opinion. His excuses for him not being a 4* were absolutely idiotic. Almost all 4* OL prospects in every class could be termed "raw" and needing to add "strength". The things I would look at are 1. footwork 2. athleticism 3. size and frame. Kerbyson would get an "A" for all of those IMO. And then you factor in all of his elite offers and I dont get it at all.

Do you think their evaluation and subsequent rating would change if they evaluated Kerbyson as a guard?

Everything I've read and heard says that's where he'll play in college...

And I totally agree with you assessment of their lame ass excuse for him not being a 4*...Trip Thurman is a raw an OL prospect as you'll see...but they sure didn't hesistate to give him the 4th star

I dont know if projecting him at guard would make a difference or not. Good question.

And I agree on Thurman. Very raw player and not even in the same ballpark athletically as Kerbyson is.

That's what I'm getting at with the guard thing...I'm almost in agreement with a 5.7 if Kerbyson is projected as a tackle...based on my understanding of how they evaluate tackles...it's a borderline call but I can see why they'd go with a high 3* instead of a 4* in that case...

But if you project him as a guard...like he is reportedly going to play in college...then you cannot logically justify having Thurman a 4* and not Kerbyson
