10. Who needs an O-Line if the QB gets the ball out quickly.

9. The Vols had a bunch of upper classmen OL players in 2008 and we all saw how well that turned out.

8. Some of next years seniors will be back for another year.

7. If all else fails we can play linemen recruited in 2010 and afterward.

6. There is a new strength and conditioning coach in town.

5. Donald Langley will be playing both ways next year forward.

4. Kiffin has been developing a new super secret offense that has no need of offensive linemen.

3. What! Really? Did I say, we should quit recruiting offensive linemen. What linemen are available? Maybe Kiffin should have roped and hogged tied em rather than recruited them.

2. Kiffin has no plan and unless some one whops him up side the head he will forget to remember that we need offensive linemen, but he is incredibly lucky and if he can get enough fast little speedy guys he can always put in some special packages.

AND

1. Kiffin can always move Rod Wilks to center and fill out the rest of the line with jelly fish. The Vols will be fine.

:good!:

OKU, BROWN, TEAGUE, WHITE, MOSES, JACKSON, JEFFREY, KELLY, JONES, LACY, RICHARDSON, NELSON, STOKES, COLEMAN, MYLES, CHARLES

COME ON DOWN!!!

coaches/system had a lot to do with it.

just how many senior years do these guys get?

7. If all else fails we can play linemen recruited in 2010 and afterward.

There's a saying "great teams are built from the inside out" and if that's true we may really start rebuilding in 2010.

6. There is a new strength and conditioning coach in town.

They better eat their spinach.

4. Kiffin has been developing a new super secret offense that has no need of offensive linemen.

They already have that offense---it's called the A-11.

This is why Florida is at the top. They are in the early drivers seat for top offensive Line recruits for 2010.Next year Florida will recruit 4 to 6 top caliber Off linemen and will possibly have the best 2010 recruited line in the nation.

Once Kiffen and company recruit offense line classes that compare to Florida,Bama,LSU then UT will compete again for SEC Championships and be in the mix for National Championships. The key will be how quickly this aspect of UT recruiting changes and can Kif keep these coaches at UT long enough to become a recruiting juggernaut with the "Big Nasty's"

1.Richard Burton:University of Florida is still there for massive 6-8, 305-pound offensive tackle Rob Crisp out of Chapel Hill, N.C., according to his father, Peter Singer Sr. Crisp was a visitor for Florida's Orange and Blue game back in the spring and the athletic lineman remains very interested in becoming part of the Gators' 2010.

2.Seantrel Henderson: Seantrel Henderson, a 6-foot-8, 303-pound offensive tackle from Cretin Derham Hall, has nine offers. Florida is currently Med Interest.

"I've been getting other letters saying that they planned to offer me," Benedict said. "Illinois, Wake Forest, Georgia, Florida, Nebraska, Florida State, Michigan State, UCLA, California and others all have sent me letters."

A South Carolina native, Benedict plans to get to a Clemson game this year and has several other schools he would like to visit unofficially.

"I'd like to get to some games at Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Clemson," he said. "I also think during my open date, I may head out west or something, maybe go check out Michigan State."

Benedict is the younger brother of Heath Benedict, the former Tennessee and Newberry (S.C.) College offensive lineman who passed away before the NFL Draft last spring.

Never mind that Florida had a glaring need for Offensive linemen. Their situation was more dire than ours.

No coincidence Florida is and always has been talent rich. Doesn't mean they have to be gators. Florida at one time was a great state to live. Today not so much. Tennessee is a much better state to live, get educated and play football.I spent lots of time working in Florida to know. Now our coaches need to add the great state of Tennessee wow factor to the Vols tradition, great support to gaining an education, to get these kids out of Florida.

No it didn't. They were thought to be serious contenders for the NC this year and lost 3 games in large part because their OL was so young. Year before last they started one young guy along with 4 very high quality veterans.

Whiffing on OL's this year won't be just a single year set back. They'll miss the opportunity to develop young guys behind veterans. It will set the rebuilding back at least two years and probably three. Many folks here who are all for giving CLK time will turn on him once it starts to look ugly.

Moreover, if things look bad on the field, do we really believe that recruits will just continue to pour in?

That just makes next year that much more critical...once all these studs start realizing that it won't make sense for all of them to go to the same school, there will be opportunity to get in with some of them. Last year and this year's OL and DT wiffs will set back the turnaround plan by at least a year. I'm sure everyone understands this. I don't see us being a legit championship contender until 2011 at the earliest.

I have more confidence at this point in this staff's potential to remedy the situation than I do in the prior staff particularly with Adkins continuing as OL coach and Chavis and Caldwell's lack of recruiting.

Ron Zook couldn't win at Florida and he still got great talent. You could argue it was all about Florida/proximity to talent, but he then went to Illinois and just kept getting future NFL draft picks, despite not winning anything significant.

Ole Miss sucked, but that didn't stop Orgeron from getting them great athletes.

Clemson was the darkhorse pre-season challenger for the national title a couple times, and everytime they fell on their faces, but Tommy Bowden's staff kept getting them solid talent.

It's a simple and practical argument that great players won't go to bad programs, but with the right staff in place, you can overcome your record. You can't do it forever, but you can do it for a while.
