Didn't we throw a huge first play of the season bomb in C.C's first year? that would be my pick...

Yeah but in the 1st round that's going against Wilhoit's 50 yarder to beat UF. Tough call

Wilhoit wouldve missed that kick 4-5 tries Im thinkin. I proved that a middle aged guy with a beer belly can leap and punch at the same time.

I didn't have much faith after watching the EP sail wide. And Dan, I'm imagining a Phil Mickelson Masters "leap" from your description.

The only reason the Martin to Price didn't make my #1 is because the whole season was magical, hard to pull out one play from that season (If that had been Bama on the receiving end instead of Fl St then that truely would have been magical!!!) All 16 of those plays were sweet!!! Hopefully we have one or two this season that will bump some off the list!! GO VOLS!!!

though to pick between, Manning to Kent in 95, Shuler 4th down conversion against UGA, and Tinsley's TD against Miami. But my favorite would be Manning to Kent opening play against Bama in 95.

IMO, The Manning QB sneak (play #15) that he backed off the pile and turned into an incredible pass play capsulates the magic that Manning brought week after week during his time in the Orange and White. That feeling of knowing something amazing was possible every offensive play is something I haven't felt since his departure (excluding '98 because... I mean wow, what a ride that was). I don't like that it is matched up in the first round against Tinsley's touchdown against Miami (play #16). I guess the only thing I can say is that I would vote for Tinsley, because, as was often the case, Manning was soley responsible for bailing out the coaches on his play. The fourth down run for the pylon against Miami was a coaches call 100%, and it should move on.

You are probably right. We already had a 14-0 lead on Bammer at th time, and Miami we were losing.

Although the QB bootleg against Bama was incredible... it was a called played that aparently only the coaches and Peyton knew about.. The play Im talking about happened against Georgia. It was a called sneak that got stacked up and Manning backed off the pile, rolled right, and delivered a bullet down the sideline.

Notably absent on this list is Travis Stephen's awesome screen reception against Georgia in 2001. I guess it would only be a sad reminder of that game's horrible conclusion, though.

That was the loudest I think I have ever heard Neyland Stadium rock.

ME TOO! I was in the student section, my first student game. It felt louder than Arkansas 1998. Imagine how highly that play would have been ranked on the top 16. And IMAGINE, we would have been undefeated heading into Florida on Dec. 2.

That's cool. We were freshman at UT the same year. I lived in North Carrick, and when we beat Florida, the entire building was rumbling, as people were running down the stairs to celebrate in Presidential Courtyard. It was incredible. One of those great moments you'll always remember as a Vol fan. The loss against UGA was another of those moments that I'll sadly never forget.

After the UF win, the Presidential Courtyard mob charged toward the stadium. Everyone was sprinting. I'm kinda surprised no one got trampled. Anyway, there was a brigade of cops in front of Neyland, just waiting on us. We all just hung out in that parking lot till they dispersed us.

Yup, I was on Cumberland that night of the Florida game.
