well we already recive votes

right now we are 31st in the ap poll and 31st in the coaches with nevada syracuse wisconsin iowa and cincy ahead of us.

i think we we end up around 26th. ketucky will drop below us, arizona will drop below us, and possibly wake forest if they lose tonight aginst duke. so around 28th if we dont jump nevada syracuse wisonsin iowa or cincy...

A win at LSU would get the Vols ranked..unfortuneatly it would be for only a week since Memphis is the next game, then the Gators...now win the next 4 and the Vols would vault to top 15.

I am convinced they can beat memphis. I am convinced they are playing with more confidence then memphis right now. now florida is a diffrent story..... at least its in knoxville...

I see it opposite...Memphis will blow the Vols out and UT has a good chance to knock off UF at home..atleast Buzz did while he was there! :whistling:

Don't count the Vols out against Memphis... the Vols beat a good TX team in their own house, who just happens to have won at Memphis this last week.

Texas was finally at full strength...course if you've watched college bball this weekend you know anything can happen..many upsets this week.

memphis doesnt scare me as much as florida does. Florida has some studs, not that memphis doesnt, but memphis hasnt played good since gonzaga. they lost to texas, almost lost to winthrop today, and well I think tennessee with there three ball shooting can hold memphis down enough to win. Lofton just has to take more than 4 shots in the first half...

I'll be pleased if the Vols play within 20 points of Memphis. 'Course I said the same thing about Texas. The Vols oughtta match up well with the Tigers, since they both run up and down the court the whole game. They can jack up the threes and make them just as well if not better than UT.

I heard on some tv show that they are unsure how good Florida is. They highlighted a weak OOC schedule. Said the Vols will be thier biggest roadblock in the SEC east.

Very weak...the WF and Cuse wins dont look as impressive with both soon to be out of the rankings. BTW when either WF or Dook losses tonight that will be 15 of the top 25 teams going down..I cant ever remember than many losing in one week...man, the parity.

I think it will be really close and we may crack the Top 25.

That's true, but Texas also has better recruits than Tennessee and we still blew them out of the water. It's not like our team has a bunch of stars or anything.

well no matter what, I Know NO ONE expected us to this good, even though i can go back and show where i said we would be a tourney team.... but i really dont care to brag lol jk jk....

I agree we're almost certain to be a tourney team, but I really think we're reading too much into the Texas win- it was timing; The gods decided we were going to click better than we have all season the same night they decided TX was going to suck wombat boogers. If both of sides of that equation hadn't happened, they would've had us for lunch.

Hopefully we'll be up enough to treat UGA as a learning game, and we'll need it if today is any sign. Hot shooting, and Bradshaw's emergence isn't going to work against Florida, much less Memphis unless we run into them on a double-lucky night.

Of course, the Tigers ARE kind've inconsistent, so that's not out of the question....

I certainly can't disagree with that, but even teams like Duke, UNC etc etc have those kind of games. While I agree that we shouldn't read into it that much, I also think that we can't just call it a total fluke either. We didn't just barely beat them, Texas never had the lead in that game.

Actually, TX never even seeming like they were in it is why it doesn't give me more of a boost. They so completely folded, it robs the win of some of its oompf and thrill value.

The way we depended almost entirely on outside play and unreal marksmanship today worries me too.......

Why the worry all of a sudden? That's how it's been for pretty much every game hasn't it? Like I said a while back, I would kill for a couple of good post players but we just don't have them. This will have to do I guess. Besides, we have excellent marksman if we can just him the ball a little more.
