Me and a buddy had a good time killing conversation today. Each came up with a top 5 list of college football players that every time they were on could not look away. We had a top 5 then a just missed 5. Most of us on here will have some Tennessee players on here. That's why it's in this forum. My list was.

Top 5 in no order
Johnny Football
Peter Warrick
Adrian Peterson
Eric Berry
Lavar Arrington

Just missed 5
Warrick Dunn
Ricky Williams
Jamal Lewis
Michael Vick
Keyson Johnson

I think Cam Newton and Reggie Bush deserve strong consideration.

CP is the best athlete you've ever seen play football? I'm quite sure you would think the same thing if he played for Bama, right?

Your post is ludicrous. Think Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders and then tell me CP is the best athlete you've seen play football.

I have seen this statement made twice. Maybe you made the same statement a couple of months ago as well in another thread. Anyways, its your opinion and why I respect that, I could not disagree with you more. Either you are very young and you haven't seen Bo Jackson, Hershel Walker, Barry Sanders, Deon Sanders, Eric Berry, and a hundred other athletes play or you are wearing your orange tinted glasses. While I'll admit he is a good athlete and hate that we will not be watching him another year in orange, he would not be in my top 100. I do agree Tim Tebow needs to be mentioned as well.

Arguably the greatest QB to play the game.....Peyton Manning. Then the most commanding and vocal defensive leader to play LB in Neyland Stadium in my lifetime....Al Wilson.

After that...."The Rocket" out of Notre Dame...Bo Jackson out of Auburn....Herschel Walker out of Georgia...Vince Young out of Texas....Derrick Thomas out of Bama...M. Teo out of Notre Dame which reminds me alot of Derrick Thomas...Barry Sanders out of Oklahoma St....and "Primetime" Deion Sanders out of FSU.

I saw the Great Bo Jackson play. He took himself out of the game in Neyland in the first quarter when Auburn was #1 and we beat that azz up and down the field. So, based on the one time I saw him in person he wouldn't have made my top 100.

I saw that game to and agree 100%. Herschel Walker was the best I saw.

Good topic though. Were you limited to college only or either college or NFL careers?

College only. The main thing on list was most exciting to watch. There were plenty of better players not on my list we were going excitement factor.

I like your list. I had a hard time with my 5 just missed. Champ Bailey vs key. Was tough for me. Key was unreal to watch at USC
