If UT wins against Arkansas they are either tied for 3rd or 4th pending the Ole Miss-Vandy game. Tie-breakers would work against them right now but to have the 3rd or 4th best SEC record with a win is not something I would have believed 6 weeks ago.

We owe our SEC ranking in part to the conference being pretty competitive this season IMO. But that doesn't even matter because I'm so proud of the team and the way they've been playing lately. In any case, I don't consider this season to be a disappointment.

I would love to see us become more of a basketball school. I think it will happen under Martin because Tennessee fans appreciate hard nosed tough teams no matter the sport.

When the schedule first came out and it was so front loaded with UK, Florida, etc it looked like a nightmare. But in reality it seems to have worked in UT's favor. It let them learn to play together in tough games that they probably weren't going to win anyway (Miss St and Vandy on the road, and 2 against UK) and maybe that experience will pay dividends down that stretch in games they can win. If the schedule had been flipped, they probably still would have struggled early and they would still have UK twice and a trip to Nashville in their future.

I woke up in the middle of the night from a dream that we had lost to Arky, and my heart was racing. It took a minute for me to calm down and realize the game hasn't happened yet.

Great to see, Vols clearly have ball in their court right now. Keep winning and we will be just fine and sitting very pretty very soon.

GBO!!!

It's a great prospect. I have been very impressed with some of our performances this season.

Florida and Alabama have been disappointing.
The only disappointing thing about Florida this year has been the two losses to Tennessee. Other than that, we're 8-3 in SEC and ranked 12th and 14th in the Coaches and AP polls. Those are generous rankings, but I wouldn't call Florida a disappointment when those things are true.

I don't think Florida's had a disappointing season, exactly, but I do think they won't make it to the second weekend.

Look at your roster and then tell me again that is not disappointing... 5* talent, 3* team
How many 3* teams could go 8-3 in the SEC and be ranked 12th in the country? You're argument doesn't make any sense.

And, yeah, we might lose in the first weekend if we get matched up against a really thick team down low. We don't have any depth down low beyond Young, Murphy, and Yeguete. Did anyone watch the Florida-Alabama game last night. Holy **** Larson is bad.

Kentucky is the only SEC team I can see doing damage of any kind past the first weekend. I'd say Florida makes it to the round of 32, Alabama does the same if they're at full strength, and Vandy loses in the first round as per usual. If Mississippi State stops sucking for long enough to stay in the field they won't be going anywhere.

Fwiw going by the preseason rankings and preseason talk from gator fans where you currently sit is disappointing.

Let me get this right, you don't have any post depth besides young, Murphy and yeguete? I'm pretty sure we only have 3 post player that play as well........

We get by just fine with 3 in fact manhandled your 3. I think what you were trying to say was you have 3 very talented big and tall pu$$ies that don't wanna play post. More accurate?

Remember back when they won the NC and had 2 losses.

You do realize that Yeguete was only a three-star, and that he's only 6-7/222? Yeguete is an undersized four who plays with tons of heart and gets hustle rebounds. His offensive skills are lacking, but he'll get there. Murphy's barely a big man, lol. He's an amazing shooter, but he's an average defender and rebounder. The only one who I would call a "very talented big" is Young. And, no, he's not a pu$$ie like a lot of fans on this board have been portraying him as. He does get bossed around by heavier guys (Maymon, Stokes). But, if anyone watched last night's game, the guy has dominated in some games. It's just a matter of consistency for him.

All of this "talent" for Florida is on the perimeter with Beal, Boynton, Walker, and Rosario. Not down low.

But, with the right matchups and shooting, Florida could go to the Final Four. With bad matchups and poor shooting, they could lose in the first/second round.

And, Yeguete only played two minutes in the Tennessee game because he got a cut in the head. Calling Yeguete a pu$$ie is probably the most ignorant thing I've heard on this board yet.

Florida might have won by 20 last night if Young had stayed out of foul trouble. At the start of the 2nd half he was posting up basically right under the rim.
