Edward Aschoff's top five SEC football impact freshmen for 2014 - ESPN

Josh Malone, WR, Tennessee: Coach Butch Jones has to be happy about having another top-flight receiver on his roster, in Malone. Even better news? Malone is on campus now and will go through spring practice. He already has good size at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and has the potential to be a real deep threat for a Tennessee team looking for more offensive playmakers. Malone, who caught 71 passes for 1,404 yards with 31 total touchdowns as a senior, should take some pressure off of Marquez North and Alton Howard.

Leonard Fournette headlines Chris Low's top SEC impact freshmen 2014 - ESPN

Jalen Hurd, RB, Tennessee: Over the years, Tennessee has leaned on freshman running backs more than a few times. Jamal Lewis, James "Little Man" Stewart, Arian Foster and Reggie Cobb all come to mind. Hurd, an ESPN 300 player and one of the top running back prospects in this class, is already enrolled in school, giving him a big head start. He's 6-3, 227 pounds and can also run. It's worth noting that Hurd is coming off an injury during his senior year of high school, but with the Vols losing 1,124-yard rusher Rajion Neal, they're going to need a workhorse in that backfield.

Alabama and Tennessee the only teams with a player on each list. Of the 10 players mentioned Alabama and Tennessee have 4 of them.

If Oline is as good as I think it will be and a QB steps up, we will have real nice balance between running and passing...plus we now have some TEs that can get involved in passing game. This could be huge once team gels together!!!

Defense will be much better once growing pains of inexperience are overcome (hopefully in time for third game). If Maggitt is back to old self, we will be nasty on D.

A strong running game will take a lot of pressure off the QB (I'm thinking it'll be Worley or Dobbs), allowing them to make throws with confidence. A solid running game also changes the way an OC calls plays, too, since it should keep us from being in 3rd and long so often.

Malone may end up being a really good option at WR for us, but I'm sure Pearson will be pushing for immediate playing time, as well.
