top ten list

In no particular order, the Bill Russell, KC Jones teams at USF, the Alcindor teams at UCLA, the '73 UCLA team, '76 Indiana, '82 UNC, '84 Georgetown, '90 UNLV, '92 Duke, '96 Kentucky, and '05 UNC. I limited the list to teams that won the tournament. There are some teams that I think were better, but they did not win it all.

I definitely thought you would have the '83 Houston and the '85 Georgetown on their the first time. Any consideration for Bird's Indiana State team or was that team too much of a one trick pony?

They were essentially a one man team. The Michigan State team that beat them was much better.

Has any one ever dominated over a two year span like UNLV? *****Yeah I know, UCLA.....******

Maybe argue 96,97,98 UK basketball teams?

Those runnin' Rebels in the early 90's were the funnest team I've ever seen. Greg Anthony and whoever else was on that team were very entertaining, especially against Duke in the NC.

I forgot about Larry Johnson being on that team. Who else?

The '91 Final Four game when Duke beat them was pretty entertaining, too, and should go down as one of the great games ever.

The '98 Kentucky team was not nearly as dominant as either the '96 or '97 teams; they just got hot (and fortunate) at the right time on their way through the tournament. Arizona did the same thing in '97, or you would be looking at a three-peat.

The '96 roster boasted Tony Delk, Antoine Walker (So,) Walter McCarty, Derek Anderson (JR,) Ron Mercer (Fr,) and Nazr Mohammed (Fr,) a full 6 players that would go on to have decent NBA careers.

'97 had Mercer, Anderson, and Mohammed with another year's experience, plus Jamaal Magloire and Scott Padgett (So,) or 5 NBA players.

'98 had Mohammed, Padgett, and Magloire.

May we never see such a collection of talent again in Lexington.

The injury bug bit Pitino and DA in 97, or they would have been a lock for the NC. The 96 team was as deep a team as we will ever see again. I am convinced that if Pitino thought he could have won an NC with the 98 team, he would have stuck around.

Stacey Augmon, Larry Johnson, Anderson Hunt, George Ackles, Moses Scurry etc.

The UNLV team was the funniest to watch as far as I'm concrened. There is no doubt UCLA is #1 followed by maybe Indiana or Kentucky.
