I would think we will have a good shot with Sykes but I am not too familiar with Golden Tate.

tate likes uf, uga, and has said if nd offers he's irish bound. the state is loaded next year and has at least 10 prospects that will be huge. sykes likes uga as well but we may be able to keep him close. we have to have a good year(9-3 or better) to land a good amount of these. neither of these are the best in the state though, chris donald of huntingdon is the best and is a vol fan. he is also a big friend of patrick willis though so ole miss should be watched.

never heard of Tate but DII is very, very weak i'd be cautioned before taking anyone from that league. I'd really like to take the guy from Alcoa, he'll be great.

tate is for real. alot of people compare him to reggie bush, though im sure that is a little overblown. he can play cb/rb/wr so id say he really doesnt fit our style anyways.

Chris Donald of huntingdon is a great player,got to see him play alot over the last 2 years & the kid can flat out play big Time!

I have seen Chris Donald play since he was a Freshman. I am telling you a flat out STUD!!! I also know alittle about him my daughter goes to school with him. 6`3 230 plays LB/RB and has started since freshman year.

donald should and imo will likely be the highest ranked player in tn next year. he would be a great pickup.

He will be high on the list & no doubt a great pickup if the vols can get him!

Saw Tate in a scrimmage game back before this football season. He is definetly the real deal. I watched him make diving catch after diving catch and his ability to jump was amazing. He was not afraid to lay out for the ball and it was only a scrimmage game. I think Ut needs this player.

Tate, has been on the UT radar for some time now. He has many interests that will only fluctuate as this season rolls near.

By Feb 07, Its anyones guess. Let these kids commit, decommit, from every school they have courted..They do feel like SUPERSTARS.

Just watched the Rivals video of Golden Tate. Holy freakin' bat caves! This kid is incredible. An amazing playmaker. I hope we have a successful enough season to bring him into UTK. If you have a Rivals sub you should check out his videos.

I also heard that we offered Tyler Maples. We are offering a LOT of instate kids for it to be so early.

And Coach Fulmer has also confirmed that he's offered a scholarship for next season to talented Maryville wide receiver Tyler Maples.



That makes four local kids in next year's class. Joining Maples is AE's Anthony Anderson, Catholic's Harrison Smith and Ray Sikes of Alcoa.

Harrison Smith is a beast, at the 3A level anyway. He did everything last year as a Junior.

Tyler Maples
Harrison Smith
Rae Sykes
Golden Tate
Anthony Anderson
Todd Campbell
Tavis Hogsett

There are others that could get offers:
Kyrus Lanxter
Dasmine Cathey
BJ Coleman
Jeremy Caldwell
Mark Fisher
And others......

I would like to know where hwarrior got his info on Tate. There has been no concrete evidence that Tate favors anybody over Tennessee and he has never said that about ND as fas as I know. I would be very interested in seeing a link showing Tate saying that. I've heard from other people that Tate favors Tennessee..........so who knows?

Donald favors Tennessee

Tyler Maples favors Tennessee

Harrison Smith would not tell his favorites but did say he grew up following Tennessee football. ND is thought to be a factor here, but I think we get him in the end.

Rae Sykes says he favors Tennessee, LSU, and Notre Dame. FSU doesn;t appear to be a huge factor at this time. UGA could be a factor. Sykes spent a good deal of his life in Athens and his mother still loves down there.

Anthony Anderson favors Tennessee.

Not sure on Todd Campbell......he is from Kentcuky as says he was a UK fan growing up, so.........

Don't know on Tate, have heard different things, but Tate has never came out and said what teams he is favoring.

Not sure on Tavis Hogsett

tate has said he has always liked the big 3 from florida. with him being catholic, nd will be a big player as well.

Sorry to inform you guys but he's not really interested in coming to UT..
And besides his head coach Jeff Brothers is a Vandy alumni...
If Notre Dame offers he's ND bound, if not Florida bound...

I knew Jeff at BA. He has always been very level headed and I doubt that he carries around an anti-UT bias when discussing college choices with HS kids. That said, I have read in a few places that Tate will go to ND if offered. I had not heard about the FL interest. I find it kind of odd that a kid who wants ND would also want to go to Miami.

IMO if UT can somehow win 11 games and make a strong showing in a BCS game we will probably get any in-state kids we want, including Tate and Sykes. It's hard to stay off the bandwagon when its driving through your backyard and all your friends and neighbors are on it.
