Adam Zagoria has a fairly lengthy commentary from Tobias Harris' father regarding the coaches who have recently visited him, including the Tennessee staff. www.zagsblog.com.
When you read the thoughts on the different coaches, it does not sound good for the Vols. The response Torrel gave was very generic, compared to the other coaches.
Tennessee was good. Those guys are great guys. Those guys are good. Tennesee is a nice school. Coach Pearls a great guy, good guy. Good winning percentage coach.
The Tobias Harris World Tour continues this weekend when Tobias and his family make their second official visit to Tennessee.
"Tennessee this weekend, baby," Torrel Harris said. "Were going to check them out, see how Tobias gets along with the players."
I would feel good about this one if he wasn't visiting Kentucky during Big Blue Midnight Madness. He can't help but be impressed. However, he would not be used at Ky the way Pearl would use him. If he really is wanting to play a point/forward position, we should be the leader.
He's definitely swimming in the deep water in that recruitment. If he gets him, it's a huge coup.
Hat...or other basketball recruiting gurus With this being his second visit their obviously won't be any big suprises for Harris and his family. So how big of an impact can this visit have on him as far as Tennessee's stock rising on his list? Also with him going into an electric rupp arena next weekend for Cal's first midnight madness, how much with that dilute our visit this weekend?
That is good to hear. I was reading about the big ol OLINE recruits we had at the game visiting today, and then my mind started to wonder about him. Was a perfect game for him to be there to see. This kid was having a blast at the game today. He was with Swipe, brian, hopson and melvin goins. Alot of students were talking to him and taking pictures with him.
It's hard to speculate what will and will not impress a given prospect. However, a young man who has grown up in NYC isn't as likely as some to be impressed with the spectacle at Kentucky. It sounds like the video went as well as UT could have hoped.Hat...or other basketball recruiting gurus With this being his second visit their obviously won't be any big suprises for Harris and his family. I think Kansas and Kentucky have both done themselves a little bit of a disservice by hyping their opening practices so much publicly. It makes it really tough for the event to measure up to the hype.I agree. However, I think Kentucky's Midnight Madness would probably impress just about anybody as crazy as those fans are about it.
