but no link was provided.

Can't find any stats on him. Is he is solid player? Like the instate guys we are getting especially from the Knoxville area.

Have a friend that grew up in Kingsport that has always said that UT could be good in baseball even if they just recruited from Knoxville to the Tri-Cities.

Eye prefer football, but definitely good to see baseball shaping up again.

This is from MaxPreps:

National Rank: 102
TN State Rank: 3

Does that mean what I think it means?

This kid was the 3rd best player on Farragut's team last year behind Delmonico and Pfeifer (yes, better than Simcox). Led all hitters at the UA Underclassmen All American games this summer. Very, very fast and hits for a good average but doesn't have a lot of power. That seems to be the pattern so far with Serrano's commits.

Rucker tweeted tonight that we have another commitment from West Tennessee shortstop. Any idea who?

Good choice with the bats.

Michael Bourn (not implying that any of these commits play like him) types have their place too. I like said pattern.

I agree. Raleigh's "gorilla ball" strategy never worked, even with the better bats. Not saying you don't need a few of those guys, but high average hitters becoming few and far between in college these days.

Wait, how is this kid better than Simcox? Looks like Simcox's batting average is way more up there.

Faster, better arm, stronger, more upside.. plus I've yet to see simcox be able to hit a pitcher throwing 87+. Got abused by Norris at farragut and didn't look good against the horne kid from columbia. There's more to baseball than hitting for an average.
