From the Commercial Appeal article:
After carrying a young Bartlett squad to the regional finals during the high school season, Dawson earned all-tournament honors at the prestigious Junior Sunbelt event in Oklahoma, helping Team Tennessee to a 10-0 record and the championship.(End)

Don't we have two other guys committed who played on that team?

And yet here you are in the college baseball forum. Ironic post is ironic.

You see a thread about commit listed on the front page, and click... it takes you to the baseball forum. You really think this thread would have gotten 1200+ views if everyone had known it was referring to a baseball commit?

Front page should be reserved for football and hoops imo.

It has "SS" and "Serrano" in the title of the post. Why would you think this is football?

I am hearing that DS has cut ties with Dawson. Anybody know the reason?

Thanks. That appears to be at least the reason given from one side of the story. Sounds to be legit reason but DS needs to be careful with this one. This isn't a bridge he needs to burn.

For a guy that was panned by some here for his academic history, DS has shown since he's been here that he's serious about academics. He's already booted two guys here for academic issues and has stopped recruiting others.

As far as burning bridges, he's very upfront with high school and travel coaches about situations like this. He doesn't just stop calling like some coaches would.

It sure seems that DS is trying to build this thing back up the right way when it comes to discipline.

The communication is the key in these matters. As long as the high school coaches and travel coaches feel the kids are being told the truth from the start there won't be any bridges burned. Those coaches surrounding this kid are ones to make sure they are kept happy.

True. And unlike the last guy, Serrano has a fully functioning brain and has been up front about everything. He's always brutally honest, that's coming across in his interviews as well.

Apparently the standards at UT have changed. The grade book restrictions are always changing. He just caught a bad break. Or UT could have possibly over signed.

Can we get a complete list of the 2012? Think Nick is one of the most talented from what I ve seen and heard.
