Toughest schedule ever?

This is by far the toughest schedule I have ever seen. To come away with 6 wins would be amazing. 7 wins Heya him coach of the year imo.

Even though I hate the Gators ( and I do) I was just checking their schedule ( hoping that they will lose 6 or more ) and it is as tough as ours. WE play Bama, they LSU , we play Oregon , they play FSU, and also Miami. To me , it looks just as tuff. Hope they lose 7- if so, Muschamps might be gone.

It's been mentioned but this schedule really is a blessing in disquise for the young players and the coaching staff.

^ That is one way to maintain a positive attitude for players and fans. Even in a loss there are always things to be pleased about. It we don't see them then we are not looking.

I'd love for you all to pop someone this year.

Im not gonna be surprised if we finish 8-4. Im feeling good about the Missouri game tonight and if we can get the victory, i think we take Auburn out at Neyland. Then there's Vandy and Kentucky, which are always very winnable.

Definitely the toughest schedule Tennessee has ever had. I'd say it's in consideration for toughest schedule ever, as well. If you asked me what it was competing with, I'd go with this:

2002 USC Trojans

That was the year Carson Palmer won the Heisman. USC played 9 ranked teams in 13 games that year.

I'd put the over/under at 13 for the number of current top 25 teams that would be better than 4-4 with our schedule to this point.

hell of a lot harder then that pee wee schedule of bama

Sort of tough for Alabama to play the number one ranked team, huh.

When UT is no longer a pee week team, I suppose Bama's schedule will move out of that phase. Get with it, boys.

Get used to it: Next year we replace OR on the road with Sooners in Norman, Ole Miss for AUB, Utah State is > WKY, Ark ST>S. bama. Plus the regular SEC games.
Oklahoma should be better on defense next year. Barring any juniors leaving, they only lose their safety and a db. On offense they lose 3 running backs, 2 wrs, and a tight end.

2011 was pretty bad too, we played the (final ranking) 1,2,5,9,19 including the both BCSNCG teams back to back weeks.

Clearly VolNation will blame Coach Dooley for that schedule too instead of laying that at the foot of Mikey Hamilton, the gift that keeps on giving. :cray:

Exactly.

We've had the "toughest schedule" ever since '10. So it's not any kind of surprise.

We had a Kelly led Oregon, bama, LSU in BR, and a Petrino lead ARK in '10. Then there's '11 which is mentioned above. Last yrs schedule wasn't a cake walk either.

This yrs schedule is tough but nothing new or out of the blue. So people need to stop acting like it so to find an excuse. CBJ was handed players that know how to play a tough schedule hard, so it's not an excuse to hide behind.

GBO!!

It has been tough and we have lost the games we were supposed to to lose and even won one we weren't necessarily supposed to. Hey, at least we didn't lose to Duke at home. Nice job VTech. Can't wait to see you in 2016. We should be scary by then and you'll probably be only a year or two under your new coach.

yeah, that "new coach" is probably going to be Bud Foster so I wouldnt count on an easy game. watch their defense week 1 versus alabama. watch UT's defense last week versus alabama. maybe you shouldnt underestimate Bud Foster...

That was a tough schedule but not as tough as ours. They played 4 teams ranked between 22 and 25 and only 1 team in the top 5 - and that was in the bowl game.

After next weekend, we will have played 7 ranked teams, 6 that were in the top 10 at one point, and at the #1 and #2 team in the nation. Not sure anyone has ever had to play that.

And it will only make CBJ's work more impressive if we make a bowl game.

Is this Tennessee's toughest schedule ever? Or maybe it is the toughest schedule of any team ever? I know some teams like Florida and Georgia have dropped out since we played them but still...Think about it.

So far we have played/will play:
#2 Oregon
#19 Florida
#6 Georgia
#11 South Carolina
#1 Alabama
#5 Mizzou (who just lost to South Carolina but should still be a top 13 team)
And #11 Auburn who will likely bump up a notch or two after their win this week.

That's 7 ranked teams including the two teams that could very well play in the NC. Our boys and coaches have had their work cut out for them since day 1.

Alabama have the toughest schedule ever. And bama have two byes. LOL111

Tough schedule but not as difficult as LSU in 2011. They played 9 games against ranked teams and won 8 of them.
