That video brings back a lot of memories. Hard to believe that footage is almost 2 decades old.

The video does an outstanding job of capturing the Volunteer heart and soul. It doesn't matter that the video might be dated because the Tennessee Tradition was there then and is even bigger now. We are all anticipating the excitement and the building momentum again to add the next glorious chapters in Vol history to continue, build on, and strengthen the Tradition. Peyton's saying the fans are as pumped up for the game as the players are is pretty much a true statement for most of us. Losing is not and option and leaves people in a funk for a couple of days, sometimes longer. Doesn't matter that the reaction may not be mature. Be a good sport yes but accept a loss, no. The Orange on the inside is the only color that matters and makes us all family. Winning makes the sun brighter and the day better. We know that in the scheme of thing this is only a game but there is a lot of truth in the final statement "this is the most important non-important thing in the world. I Will Give My All For Tennessee Today. Tennessee tradition. Nothing like it. GBO!!

Did you type this in the late '90s and just now hit send?

You really think the Tennessee Tradition is bigger today and losing isn't acceptable? There are people on here talking about 6-6 for this upcoming season as being a success. Hell, when I was at UT they lost 7 games total from 1990-1993!

I'm one of those saying 6-6 is a success next season.
Does it suck?
Yep, but it is what it is.

I was referring to the poster saying that losing isn't an option and leaves people in a funk for days. We've been in a funk for years!

I am one of those that think that 6-6 or 7-5 would be a successful season because of our youth. It is hard though for me to concede any game...even Bama. I am just glad to have optimism finally for the direction that we are heading now.

I get you.
I remember those times that losing was a shock to the system. That feeling that we could honestly beat anyone, but that's just an old man living in the past on my part.

I'll give you that.
Hopes are higher right now than they have been in a very very long time.

Same here. When I saw the interlocking UT on the field it brought me back to the days where UT could line up with just about anyone.

Let's hope this incoming class and the those after get us back there.

I think we made the first step to getting on the right track with this class. I just hope that we can show enough positives next season that Butch can sell it to another top ten class. If that happens, I truly believe that we are on our way.

I think that with the exception of Oklahoma and Alabama all other games are winnable. We need to beat Florida and Mizzou and at least win one or two out of UGA, SC and Ole Miss. And of course win all the other games. The Vols can do it with the current talent if th QB situation is rectified. That is the key to next season.

THIS - if we can pull off a 6-6 or 7-5 and win a bowl or at least play well, and add targeted 4* and 5* next year (since we wont have as big a recruiting class) - we can definitely look forward to TN returning to be a strong contender. The difference maker between good and great will be whether this coaching team can also develop the players to their full talent level and out-coach on game day. But I do have high hopes. Winners tend to win, wherever they go and team CBJ has shown real success in his past.

Wow! Makes me want to put on the war paint and go rip someone's head off, and crap down their neck. BTW, I get carried -away very easily.

I stay disappointed for a little while after losses even if I expect it

When I was younger, losses bothered me. But they didn't happen that often. Now, I'm so used to UT losing "big" games that I'm over them before the game ends.

We will see a monumental meltdown this fall when our highly touted freshmen make the inevitable freshmen mistakes and we lose games, maybe even "supposed to win" games.
