I have a compound but do some shooting with others' competition re-curves. Have never been in a competition though. Just do it for stress relief. However, my passion is golf but there are a lot of similarities between golf and archery. And, also bowling, there are a lot of similarities there too.

Got a Bear Kodiak Magnum 52" 50lb recurve ... you are making me remember how much I used to love to get out there and shoot it. Really should get back into it.

And have a couple of osage orange blanks that I have been meaning to turn into bows. One of my many projects on my to-do list.

Don't forget football, basketball and curling.

Golf and bowling are boring.

So you're opposed to technology? Then why not cut a hickory stick and string it with some animal gut? Just kidding.

Traditional bows have a significantly shorter range than compounds. Next to spear hunting, it requires a significant amount of skill.

I've got a collection of recurves. I'll post a pic when it warms up a bit and I have time to get into my storage trailer. I practice instinct shooting in the backyard. Great way to clear the mind.

Never shot a recurve, done a little hunting with a compound and shot carp out of the lake, but I've got a cousin that's deadly with a recurve

Wish I had a backyard to practice in. I used to be a pretty decent shot in my teens. I haven't touched my bow in a long time.

I am a point of aim shooter. Trying to get my confidence up to instinctive shoot. My recurve is a 55 lbs draw but I am still trying to find the right arrows for this draw weight.

I used to be in the woods for deer during bow season, but ya gotta scout fer em, and this hunting place was too far away when I had little kids. I might could get back to it now.

I hunted deer for one season in my teens and it was just so incredibly boring to me. Just sit in a tree... maybe you see something, maybe you don't. Prefer fishing.

I've got a 1972 Ben Pearson Colt. 64 inch, 45 pound draw. I've hunted with it a few times with no luck. I like to shoot it in the back yard when I've got nothing else to do. I'm a good shot between 15-25 yards. Anything farther than that and it gets ugly.

Once I went out to the archery range, put a trash can lid on a chair at 70-80 yds, pretended it was a warrior with a shield, had to elevate a bit, and no I didn't hit it every time, but when I did, it was gratifying. Silly, I know, but kinda fun.
