I thought I would share some of this. I couldn't find Karic or Norman-Lott. Some interesting take aways:

John Campbell is our highest rated pass blocker on the team now. Castles the TE transfer has an incredible run block rating, granted it was lower level competition. If you compare Thornton's rating as a WR it's on par with most of our returning guys, which is promising given he hasn't played a ton. And Jeudy-Lally is our highest rated defender. Hopefully that transfers to the SEC with him.

Thanks for that info. Any idea what Pili’s was in 2021 (before he got injured)?

It looks like he was ranked much higher the further back you go. Hopefully he's healthy this season. But even with his grades as they were in 2022, he's on par with Banks who he's replacing.

Does this mean we will have a defense next season?

I think we may have found our number 1 corner for next season. That alone would be a big help and then we just have to hope for continued development everywhere else and perhaps another solid addition or two post spring. Walker and Slaughter both looked good down the stretch. The answer to that question is TBD.

There's certainly a chance. Defensive line was very good last year and returns almost everyone. LBers could be improved particularly if Beasley continues to improve like he has been. Secondary is where it all hinges, but with Jeudy-Lally, the freshman, and with Slaughter, walker, and Turnage looking pretty solid, I think there's a pretty good chance for some major improvement

I really don't understand this sentiment.

Yes, we had one terrible, horrendous, season altering performance against S. Carolina, played against a Heisman winner who absolutely went off (Bryce Young), and played not so great against another QB who will be a top 10 draft pick (A Richardson). Those performances left a lot to be desired, no doubt.

We responded to that season altering loss by pitching a shutout, then holding an elite program to 13 points. Earlier in the season, we held another top 10 draft pick (Levis) to 6 points and 3 Int's and held the National Champs who scored 65 points in the National Championship to 3 points in the 2nd half (1st qtr sucked)...

I get it, we need to improve, but I don't think it's fair to say we didn't have a defense; Coach Banks did a helluva job, IMO.

I believe if Milton plays as well as Hooker last year, Tennessee is going to be in the mix for an SEC title and a national title. And I don’t see why he won’t. Defense will definitely be better.

Milton's performance in the orange bowl and all last season proves that he has improved.

Also if you listen to his interview on vol club confidential then he goes in depth about how he didn't really understand the offense that well in early 21 and now he gets it. He was also coming off a thumb injury then too.

Heupel is a QB guru, Milton knows he's the guy. He can make all the throws and arguably he will have better weapons this year than we had last year which will make things easier for him.
