Transfer Portal 21-22

Sorry,Rennie is probably not getting minutes...there is plenty of minutes to go around...
80 minutes at SG and SF, where Horston/Burrell will average about 50 minutes. That leaves 30 minutes that will likely be split between Wynn, Puckett, Salary, Darby and Rennie. I would bet money that the minutes won't be split evenly, and Tess would be lucky if she averages 5 min/game (with 0 minutes in close games).

Under current rules (and they may change soon), transfer players still need an NCAA waiver to become immediately eligible versus sitting out a year. Have those waivers become de facto rubber stamps?

If Tess plays, that means she's taking minutes from Horston, Burrell, Wynn, Puckett, Salary and Rennie. The odds aren't in her favor, and if she beats out the freshmen for minutes, then that would be cause for concern as to how good this freshmen class actually is.

Nothing against Tess, but she's not a SEC-caliber player who would be getting game minutes outside of mop-up duty (if that)

But definitely better than Rennie.

JerKaila Jordan (5-9 FR point guard, New Orleans, LA) has entered her name into the portal, out of Tulane WBB; she was their leading scorer (16.7 PPG) in 2020-21 and was unanimously named AAC Freshman of the Year Best pg in the portal behind Hayes and Hall. This young lady can flat out play.

The difference between Anastasia at MTSU vs. her freshman year (and Simmons for that matter) is how much more efficient she is at finishing. She doesn't need to throw up prayers because she's either getting to the rim or she's getting fouled on her way.

I figured that she decided to go to MTSU because she wanted to be The Only Show. The fact that she's transferring suggests that she's willing to consider options to be part of a stronger team.
I enjoy reading your posts. You are obv knowledgeable and level-headed in your posts. I do have more background knowledge than most when it comes to the Hayes sisters and parents. They always have been and (my opinion) always will be about only one thing: the stats/performance of their daughters. They don't want to be a "part" of something bigger than them. They want to be the main attraction and if they are successful but the team is not then they sleep just fine at night. Dad wants things done his way or he causes major issues.

Agree completely.

Man this is NUTS!! Covid has changed the way alot players are thinking today...Many of them maybe looking to get closer to home 🤔

Yes but she is from New Orleans that Tulane is in New Orleans. Doesn't get much closer to home than that, lol.

Yes we know. They were here for a year, remember? If the sisters are going as a unit beware.

You have trouble getting that comment too? Maybe the poster was thinking Tulane is the one up in Baton Rouge.

This transferfest is insane. The covid year on top of the first year of no sit out is just nuts. Teams are being totally remade, recruiting is nonstop. Surely every year will not be this crazy; maybe it will turn out the grass isn't always greener and things will settle down. Meanwhile, can we snag a dang 3 pt shooter?

So what happens to a player in the portal if no one wants them? They go crawling back to coach and team and say JK, I really wanted to stay all along? How does that work? Who'll be the first to go back to school they already left a few cycles back? Annie Hayes (please no!).

I don’t think we would take her back lol. I don’t think she would be needed! She should already be graduated this year based on her age.

So what do you think is their motivation to go to another school? Annie was clearly the star at MTSU and Aislynn was option #2. They'd have a hard surpassing that, unless they went down in the school competitiveness, not up.

To play together. Would not be shocked if their parents tried to pressure the MTSU staff into taking all 4 of them. If they refused their nutty parents decided they would take their “business” elsewhere.
