transfer portal for playing time

on twitter post by @TP4PT 817 of 1851 d1 playeers that entered the transfer portal. 45% Have not found a new home. Can players check interested by other teams before jumping in to the transfer portal? If player starts talking to other teams without entering portal if allowed would piss off some coaches. Grass not always greener or more plaiying time on court on a new team 45% know that now.

The other coaches are not suppose to contact you until after you have submitted paperwork to enter portal. If not picked up by another school, then you might be able to stay at your current school IF they are willing to take you back. Several of these players may be without a scholarship anywhere.
